The Bruins opened the scoring in Saturday's game when Chuck Kobasew scored his team-leading 19th goal on a rush with Glem Metropolit. Kobasew finished the give-and-go 2-on-1 by beating goaltender Chris Osgood inside the far post 7:52 into the game.
Boston failed to capitalize on a critical 5-on-3 advantage halfway through the game and the Red Wings tied five minutes later. Henrik Zetterberg scored his team-leading 31st goal when he snapped a quick shot off a faceoff that beat netminder Tim Thomas high to the short side.
Datsyuk gave the Red Wings the lead for good when he slammed home a big rebound off a shot from Zetterberg just 1:53 into the third period. Rafalski's blast from the right point with 5:58 remaining in regulation sealed the victory.
Osgood, again solid in net, stopped 22 of 23 Boston shots. Thomas, who was named to the NHL All-Star game last week, was also strong in net and made 29 saves on 32 Detroit shots.
Dallas Drake returned to the lineup after sitting out in favor of Aaron Downey for Friday's game against Colorado.
