Forward Darren McCarty officially accepted the Red Wings' one-year, $475,000 contract offer Monday morning, returning him to the organization after a 2.5-season absense. McCarty will remain in Grand Rapids as he continues to get himself in shape.
Despite the contract McCarty is still a depth signing and isn't guaranteed a roster spot with the Red Wings at any point this season. His call-up will have to be earned.
Hopefully he will get in great shape and help the Red Wings claim the Cup.
