After leaving the ice with discomfort in his lower abdominal region during pratice on Friday, March 7, left winger Thomas Holmstrom received good news from team doctors on monday.

Red Wings eneral manager Ken Holland said the results from an ultrasound and MRI on Tomas Holmstrom's lower abdominal region were negative, showing no tears.

Holmstrom, who skated with the team on Tuesday said he "feels better" but left the ice after the area became sore. "It was better than Saturday, for sure. Saturday I couldn't skate,'' said Holmstrom (mlive.com).

Even though the Wings are in a race with the Stars for the best record in the NHL, the team has been adamant that their main priority is to have everybody healthy and ready to go for game 1 of the playoffs.

Currently listed as day-to-day, there is no time table set for Holmstrom's return.

Quote of the Night:
Red Wings forward Dallas Drake played in his 1,000th game on Tuesday night against the Blackhawks. Drake, who also recorded his 300th career assist during the game was asked by members of the media afterwards if he planned to make it to 1,500. He quickly replied with a grin, "No. I'll be in the beer leagues by then."
