Prospect forward Mattias Ritola has been called up by the Red Wings this morning and will make his NHL debut today against the Predators. Ritola will take the place of Aaron Downey, who is currently sidelined with a case of the flu.
Ritola, who was Detroit's fourth choice (103rd overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, is a rookie for the Griffins this season and has six goals and 22 points in 60 games so far this season.
