Some good news on the Red Wings' injury front appears to be on the horizon as Detroit re-assigned prospect forwards Darren Helm and Mattias Ritola to Grand Rapids Monday morning. The news likely means that Aaron Downey is likely recovered from his weekend bout of the flu while at least one other forward -- either Tomas Holmstrom (groin), Kris Draper (groin) or Darren McCarty (ribs) -- will be able to return from injury.
Helm appeared in three games, finishing with no points and a -3, for the Red Wings while filling in for Draper. Ritola appeared in both weekend games and notched his first career NHL point with an assist on a second period goal by Tomas Kopecky against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.
