The comeback to a spot in the Red Wings' lineup is getting tougher for Darren McCarty, as MLive.com reports Tuesday morning that McCarty is likely another two weeks away from playing. McCarty has been rehabbing from a rib injury but has been slow to recover.
"I don't think he's close," Holland told MLive's Ansar Kahn. "He's starting to skate, he still has pain. It's been three weeks since his injury. These things are usually in the four-, five-, six-week range."
Holland added that a regular roster spot is likely out of reach for McCarty -- barring injuries -- because of the lost time.
