The news on injured forward Tomas Holmstrom continues to get better, as noted by the Macomb Daily's Bruce MacLeod in his blog this morning. Holmstrom skated again today and hopes to return Wednesday, though Thursday is more likely. In other injury news, Mikael Samuelsson stayed off the ice and Brad Stuart was making passes with his broken finger in preparation for a return at the start of the playoffs.
Holmstrom, who admits to still suffer from some discomfort during straight-line skating, appears to be benefiting from a cortisone shot administered over the weekend.
Samuelsson, who head coach Mike Babcock believes will be able to get in a game or two before the end of the regular season, spent the morning on the trainers table getting treatment.
