Defenseman Greg de Vries's goal just 11 seconds after Pavel Datsyuk cut Nashville's second-period lead to 2-1 proved to be the eventual game-winning goal as the Predators have fought back to tie the first round series at two games apiece with a 3-2 victory Wednesday night. Dominik Hasek struggled with surrendering goals in quick succession again and was relieved by Chris Osgood following the de Vries goal. Hasek stopped just 11 of 14 shots.

After opening the game with a strong opening shift by the Red Wings' top unit of Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Tomas Holmstrom is was the Predators that struck first -- and twice. Dan Hamhuis opened the scoring just 5:18 into the game when he finished off a beautiful cross-ice pss on a Nashville power play. Shea Weber made is 2-0 just 32 seconds later -- the fourth time in this series that Nashville has scored two goals within 180 seconds -- when his hard point shot deflected slightly off defenseman Niklas Kronwall.

Datsyuk cut the lead to 2-1 6:24 into the second period when he knocked home a nice feed from Holmstrom at the top of the Nashville crease past goaltender Dan Ellis.

de Vries made it 3-1 just 11 seconds later when his unscreened shot from the left point found space under Hasek's right arm.

Datsyuk scored again early in the third period on a Detroit power play to cut the lead to 3-2 but the Red Wigns were unable to get another puck past Ellis, who turned aside 39 of 41 Detroit shots. The Red Wings peppered Ellis with 30 shots over the final 40 minutes.

Osgood was strong in relief of Hasek and stopped all 13 shots he faced.
