The Red Wings may be without defenseman Brad Stuart for Game 1 of the club's second round series against the Colorado Avalanche when the two teams faceoff starting tomorrow night for a very good reason: his wife, Melissa, is expecting the couple's second child at any time. Stuart won't return until after the child is born, so the potential is there for the Red Wings' deadline acquisition to miss more than the series opener.

Andreas Lilja, who has been a healthy scratch since being replaced by Brett Lebda in the middle of the first round, practiced with Niklas Kronwall Wednesday morning.

In other injury news, Helene St. James reports that forward Kirk Maltby (hamstring) will not play in Game 1 and is doubtful for Game 2.
