The Red Wings will have defenseman Brad Stuart back in the lineup when the club takes the ice for tomorrow's Game 2 against the Colorado Avalanche in Joe Louis Arena. Stuart, who missed Thursday's 4-3 series opening victory, remained in San Jose for the birth of a baby boy. Stuart returned in time to take part in this morning's optional skate.
Two Red Wings that weren't on the ice were Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom, reports the Macomb Daily's Chuck Pleiness through Red Wings Corner. Holmstrom has been battling an abdominal strain for much of the last third of the season and speculation is rampant that Datsyuk is banged up but skipping practices because of the "flu". As MacLeod notes, Datsyuk's play has yet to be affected as he remains one of the Red Wings' top forwards in the playoffs.
