Another Red Wing was named a finalist for an NHL Award Friday, with defenseman Chris Chelios joining Edmonton's Fernando Pisani and Toronto's Jason Blake as finalists for the Masterson Trophy, which is given annually to the player that best exemplifies qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
Chelios joins head coach Mike Babcock (Jack Adams), Nicklas Lidstrom (Norris), Henrik Zetterberg (Selke) and Pavel Datsyuk (Selke & Lady Byng) as Red Wings up for awards in June. Goaltenders Dominik Hasek and Chris Osgood have already won the Jennings Trophy for having the NHL's best defense during the regular season.
