It's been a couple years in the making, but the new LGW.com is finally here! Read on about some current site updates and new features.

I first wanted to thank everyone that waited through all of the delays, missed deadlines, etc. while I slowly worked on the site. As I mentioned previously, adding two little girls in my life over the last two years did some serious damage to my free time. (They thank you for your patience and understanding as well!)

That said, thanks again -- and know that I'll be continually working on improving and growing the site for years to come.

Now on to the new site...

The new site officially debuted late Sunday night but there have been a few small fires to put out that have resulted in some broken links and other oddities. I'll be working throughout the day to to correct these issues.

The LetsGoWings.com Forums will also be getting an update over the next couple of days (if everything goes according to plan), so look for an update on that as well.

Along with the new site comes some new and updated features, such as:


Red Wings Salary Cap & Contract Charts
This page breaks down the Red Wings' active salary cap total and gives estimated projections as the season goes on. Also included are season-by-season player salaries for players on the NHL roster and those on 2-way contracts with the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins.

Red Wings Fan Resource
This page takes advantage of Google Maps and placemarks popular parking designations, shuttle services, bars, restaurants and hotels. Also included is a map of the Detroit People Mover along with all of the stops along its route. This page is continually updated, and if you see something that isn't present on the page you can submit it to be added by using the form directly below.

Fan Blogs
This will slowly get rolling on the site as the season progresses! LetsGoWings.com has added over a half-dozen writers to the staff I hope you'll enjoy what they bring to the table. Be sure to check out the Fantasy Forecast, LGW Weekly and Face Off (a point-counterpoint column) columns that will be debuting in the very near future.

RSS Feeds
The new site also offers RSS feeds for the latest stories posted here. The site also offers RSS feeds that are specific to certain sub-forums on the LetsGoWings.com Message Board, such as the General Discussion forum and Ticket Exchange.

Updated Chat Room
The updated LGW.com Live Chat now includes moderation and user support, so please be sure to check it out, especially during Red Wings games!

LetsGoWings.com Mobile
Now you can access LetsGoWings.com from your mobile phone! Just punch in the site address in your mobile phone's browser and a listing off all of the Red Wings' latest news is at your fingertips!

Updated Player Profiles
The Red Wings player profiles have been updated with current player details, contract information, player history, and memorabilia links!


Plenty of other updates are also on the way, such as Member Photo Galleries, an updated History section, Team Store, and more!
