Defenseman Niklas Kronwall had four assists to help lead the Red Wings to a 6-2 blowout victory over the Los Angeles Kings Wednesday night in Joe Louis Arena.
Detroit also got goals from six different players as the club increased its lead in the Central Division to a staggering 19 points in just mid-December.
The Red Wings took a 2-1 lead into the second period behind goals from Henrik Zetterberg and Jiri Hudler that was followed up by a power-play tally from the Kings' Dustin Brown. Los Angeles tied the game at 2-2 just 15 seconds into the middle frame on a quick shot from Patrick O'Sullivan.
Detroit regained the lead for good on goals by Tomas Holmstrom and Dan Cleary (power-play) before the end of the period. Johan Franzen and Valtteri Filppula scored in the third period to close out the scoring.
The Red Wings' power play continued its dominant play of late and finished 2-for-5. The Kings finished 1-for-4.
Goaltender Dominik Hasek need to stop just 18 shots to earn his fifth victory in his last six starts.
Detroit has needed just 34 games to hit the 25 victories, tying a franchise record set in 1995-96 when the club went on to win an NHL-record 62 games.
