Strange I haven't seen such outrage about the classless "Crosby sucks" chant... I loved it...absolutely loved it. Good to see some life at The Joe. Maybe the tea-and-crumpets crowd skipped out on Cup tickets. Yes, they do. There is actually a thread on it from a month ago leading into the Chicago series and also one done I think at or around the time of the WInter Classic and like I say in every one of those threads, I LOVE IT!!!!! I get pumped every time Chicago does the "Detroit Sucks" chant! I love when fans get into it at games and heckle the crap out of the other team, as long as it is verbal abuse then i am ok with it as long as it doesn't cross any moral or ethical boundaries of course. I think it's stupid when Chicago fans chant "Detroit sucks" because it isn't true and it's classless. Now I know Crosby was acting like a prick out there, but he doesn't suck, and it reflects better on the organization and our fanbase if we celebrate the Wings' accomplishments without mocking individuals on the other roster.... I guess it did give him something to pout bigger about in the box while justice was served for his behavior. But "Crosby is a punk/hack/goon" might have been appropriate? It's all about pent up aggression towards Bettman's golden boy and the fact that he thinks he should be able to get away with anything. Even if the chant didn't say what it should have, it showed that we don't hold him in the same light as Bettman does. Good or bad, it was done, and I laughed. If they truly "sucked" they wouldn't be in the finals. Not to mention that, while I can't stand cry baby Crosby, he really doesn't suck. He's a great player with superb skills. He needs to grow up. I have attended games at other arenas and can't stand it when they chant that about the wings. Not because they are "my team" but because they really don't suck. The thing about Crosby is that he will not grow up and be a team player until a coach or GM steps p and sets him straight. As long as others surrounding him keep placating his ego, he will continue to be a primadonna. The chant started because Crosby was busy participating in extracurricular activities all game and then spending time between every whistle complaining to the zebras. Not that there's anything necessarily wrong with that, he's a free man and can do as he pleases, but that's not very captain-esque and in our building it shouldn't surprise anybody that he heard about it. Chanting Crosby sucks was simply more efficient than trying to get 20k drunk people to chant Crosby is a bad captain. Malkin or Crosby will seriously hurt someone one day and we all know there will be no suspension. I hope they NEVER skate with the Stanley Cup. While I would have preferred a "sidney is a baby" chant, I will take it. The Joe doesn't usually take aim at a specific player (other than pronger), so it was funny to hear on tv.
