holland's love affair with old washed up veterans gets frustrating sometimes

I wouldn't want Knuble playing over Miller. Drew is extremely valuable to the penalty kill (even more with Eaves out) and has shown the ability to chip in offensively.

Wings give Mike Knuble a tryout

Abby is a natural winger and plays better in that role, furthermore, Knuble has a career 50+ percent faceoff record, something, as a team, we were horrible at last year... as evidence by the amount of time Emmerton got on the ice last year, Babs prefers a natural center at that role and if my choices are Knuble or Emmerton, I'll take Knuble every time... Did I mention he's a right hand shot? I wouldn't want to see him just given a spot, but on a 2-way contract, why not...

    Tomas Holmstrom Retires

One thing I won't miss are the bulls**t disallowed goals.

If he can still play bring him in on a 1 year contract. This season is a sprint to the end and with so many games in such a short timeframe there is no "if a team can stay healthy". Every team is gonna have an injury problem so grab as much depth as possible. There is nothing wrong with giving him a tryout and if he can play theres nothing wrong with a 1 year contract.

I'm not sure what I'm going to miss most - his presence in front of goalies or Swenglish.

If he still looks like this, I'm sure the sex-starved girls in the Water Cooler won't mind.

    Tomas Holmstrom Retires

I was wrong about Holmstrom's production in the '98 playoffs; he had 19 points rather than 17, placing him only one point behind Fedorov.

    Red Wings 2013 schedule

With 48 games they could have played 1 vs every Eastern team, 2 vs own Conf and 3 vs own division, with 1 more game against somebody, a traditional rival or division rival or Columbus Instead, its West only and not even the equal number of games vs own division. What genius came up with that one?

Johan Franzen - Once and For All

I think they are from the standpoint that they are workhorses for now at least. Skill wise Franzen takes the cake, the problem is he only shows up when he feels like it. If I had to choose between Helm and Franzen, guess what Franzen would be packing his bags. Helm comes out every night and gives %110 percent, thats why he is better than franzen, thats why Nyquist, smith, and tatar are better than franzen. When you score 20 goals in a month and then 10 goals in the next 4 months you obviously don't care enough

If the Islanders announced they were going to retire his number, would that be enough to get him back?
  20. 1 point
Actually, you would be hard pressed to find someone who thinks Franzen and Fedorov should even be mentioned in the same sentence. Franzen could not and will never be good enough to even sniff Sergei's sock hat...One can argue that if Fedorov is not on our team for those 10 years, we may still be in a Stanley Cup drought, that same can NEVER EVER be said about twinkle toes Franzine... Franzen should be traded. And speaking of comparng him with Hossa, sure Hossa may get pushed around easily, but Franzen is like a bowl a jelly as well and when the going gets tough he turtles. Oh sure, he can pick on a teenager and throw his mouthgaurd out, but when someone challenges him, he is no more tough than Hossa...they are both soft. Hossa is better than Franzen...period. Franzen will never be Fedorov.

So to toot or no to toot is the question? I say if Tootoo brings reason to toot, then toot we shall, for Tootoo.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.
