I hope this situation along with the situation the Oilers were in pre McDavid shows people how just getting a few top 5 picks guarantees nothing. The key is acquiring young top talent, molding said talent, and then finding the right mix of kids/vets to get you to that next level. With the exception of the one year Roy won Coach of the Year, this organization has been a joke for a while now.

The Avs haven't really been good since we KO'd them in 2002 run game 7. They had a couple more playoff early runs but that game 7 loss against us ended their short lived dynasty. Ours on the other hand kept going for another decade.

I'd take a MacKinnon or Duchene off their hands... I know they were, not sure if they still are, looking for a big defensive defenseman. Surely a package surrounding Ericsson could land us one of those guys...

Agreed, and what a shutout it was. 42 saves. Nice to see him get one finally with the season he's had. Hopefully he can build off this and turn it around. Bout time Blash showed some faith in him and gave him the start tonight in t back to back.

Awesome performance by Mrazek. Hopefully this is the start of his mojo coming back. Plus another point for Mantha tonight. Good all around.

Amazing what can happen when a goalie is given the chance to work out the kinks. Here's to hoping Mrazek starts next game.

I would laugh if Mrazek got an empty netter just so he could bust Sheahan.

Maybe the new goalie pants will make it more comfortable for Mrazek when he has to wear a backpack to carry the team.

Ya, folks have a habit of never letting you live it down when you're wrong, but they always, and I mean ALWAYS forget when you're right. Then when you try to remind them, they get all mad at you and call you arrogant. I've grown used to it and enjoy it too! I've just learned to always admit it when I'm wrong! I'm glad Jensen is making it thus far! I've always had him as my 7th, so maybe if/when they acquire a #1, he slides back to #7, but as of now I am glad he is pretty much our best guy out there...for now! BUT, if they get rid of E, Smith and Kronwall goes LTIR, he should stay in the top 6....

If Holland trades a top 5 pick, it needs to be for someone better than Fowler in my opinion. I'd consider it, but there would have to be more involved for me to pull the trigger...

No captain any of team could make this team any better at the age of 36. Team is trash, doesn't mean Z not a good captain.
