Wish we never got rid of Eaves - a true grinder with actual scoring ability

I've always liked the guy too. He made some silly mistakes sometimes, but he was incredibly underrated at getting the puck from the opponent and distributing it to our boys. Sometimes its was pretty incredible what he did under pressure, to be honest.

http://griffinshockey.com/news-stats/?article_id=3685 Hronek is over a point per game as a D-man in the OHL and Smith is a literal brickhouse. I feel like these 2 are our new top prospects outside of Svech.

Hronek is an undersized offensive Dman from Czech. Best case scenario: Rafalski/Krug type. Smith is big physical shop wrecker. Best case scenario: top 6 powerfoward. Worst case scenario: bottom 6 grinder

Yup, he was. Pretty impressive stats for a "rookie" defenseman, 61 points (14 goal, 47 assists) in 59 games.

    James De Haas

De Haas is really starting to heat up for Clarkson University. He has 28 points (7 goals, 21 assists) in 34 games and 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists) in his last 3 games. He will likely make the jump to pro next season to play a season or two in Grand Rapids before getting a shot in Detroit. I don't think he will ever be anything more than a bottom 4 stay at home defenseman at the NHL level, but at 6'3", 215 lbs, smooth skater, decent first pass and shot, he could be a nice addition in a year or two...
