I still think we won the lottery with Dekeyser. Not a #1, but a great pickup. If Victor can be a comparable piece that would be huge. Not expecting that, but it'd be great to pickup a big guy with potential.

So...the hockey world should just stop reporting news unless a kid is a sure thing? No more undrafted FA news. Hell, just stop reporting on the draft after the top 15 picks, most of those guys will never amount to anything anyway... Pretty much goes without saying that an undrafted FA is a longshot to be anything special, but that doesn't mean it isn't worth discussing.

A flop is more likely then finding a diamond in the rough, but that doesn't mean you just give up on it.

The Malik Report and eliteprospect links actually say he's 6'5". I don't see what's not to like here. Brunner was in his in his late 20s (maybe 26?). Leino too (26). Ejdsell is 21 we could get him in the AHL for some important development years.

We need to draft more good Canadian boys from the WHL. Like your boy Darren Helm.

I would love Tippett. I see him being a perrenial 30 goal scorer. Not the best defensively but he simply scores goals. Something the Wings lack desperately.

Mats Zuccarello was undrafted, and fairly well hyped from what can recall. He's been a significant contributor for the Rangers so far in the playoffs, and has averaged 50+ points per season in his four full seasons in the NHL. If you could get that level of performance for 'free' in terms of not using a draft pick, then why not roll the dice with Ejdsell? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Everyone in the 3rd or lower is going to be a project. The closest you could get to a non-project would be someone who's almost-but-not-quite-certain to be the next Glendening. Also, try to remember that a prospect is not 2nd-tier, or off-the-board, or an experiment, or whatever just because you don't know who he is. Yeah, who am I kidding. We all know you'll be going apes*** about something or other this offseason.

The Capitals and Penguins had the two best records in the East. They are playing each other in the second round. Meanwhile, the other series in the East involves the teams with the 5th and 6th best records, in New York and Ottawa. Does this make sense to anyone besides Bettman and his cabinet of fools? In the West, it's likely a mess. The Ducks are the highest seed left, yet instead of playing the 8 seed Predators, they are playing a higher seeded Edmonton team.

Really? Nyquist has proven he can score here while playing relatively well defensively. I can't say the same for Brunner.

Oh, for sure. I just feel that, on the whole, we've kind of lost sight of what makes great uniforms great. Personally, I like bold, clean, restrained/tasteful, straightforward. Like you, I think the Flames' and Ducks' current looks are way too noisy. Do you really need vertical piping on the flanks? Keep it simple, stupid! You know what it is? It's Michael Bay.
