Vanek is fantastic at interviews, it's always quality responses and not just the same generic "we just gotta keep pushing.. play the full 60 minutes.. we gotta play as a team" etc. I liked his praise for Hirose also -

Dayum, that was some nice work from Hirose and Kuffner on the PP. Kuffner *just* missed an empty-net tap-in. End of 2nd. Wings trail 1-3. My big takeaway thus far is that we might have a pretty decent NHLer in Hirose. Ludicrously small sample size, of course. -

I've always liked that about him. I wonder if he'll take a job with the Wings when he retires, since he likes being here so much. I could see him being a pretty good scout (pro or amateur).
