Personal note to the denizens of this season's GDTs: I miss you all and enjoyed our chats during the games. Even though most were awful losses, you were there for the celebrations of the good outings... and there will be more of them. You are good and loyal fans of our Wings. Stay well and be safe/sane about this situation we are in, as a nation. I just wanted to say hello to each of you, and hope to see you soon - Dabby, Mabus, Legs, Y19, Neo -- all of you fine people. I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all the good people here at LGW, thanks for those of you who are sticking this out through a frustrating and painful rebuild and continue to post and keep this place afloat. I hope you eat a lot of food, drink a lot of beer and wine, watch some football, and enjoy this day with your family, loved ones, fellow Wings fans, your cat, whoever it may be. I'm glad to be a part of this site and what we all have created over the years, it's our own little hockey family and through thick and thin, i'm looking forward to the rest of the season here with everyone. Thanks everyone, be safe, enjoy your holiday, and i'll see some of you tomorrow for the Flyers game. LETS GO WINGS!! Happy Thanksgiving.

Pretty fitting that Yzerman is being announced as GM on 4/19/19. What a Good Friday!

I was at a meet and greet media event in Toronto last night. TSN radio personalities were there talking Leafs and Raptors playoffs. One of the guys there from TSN, was Jamie McLennan. Since I'm a smart aleck, and old enough to not be star struck, I told McLennan I'm a Red Wings fan, and said I remember when he two hand slashed Franzen in the 2007 Playoffs. Jamie laughed and said, "Franzen went down easy, and he resurrected the next day to score the series winning goal in over time". We made more small talk about that series, and I got a picture with him. Jamie's wife, Steff, is one of the producers of the radio show he's on. She was there too and I told her the same thing, I'm a Wings fan and remember when Jamie slashed Franzen. Steff laughed and said, "Yeah Jamie will never live that down". Walking out at the end of the night, I saw Steff again. I told her I got a picture with Jamie, enjoyed meeting him, so all is forgiven. Again she laughed. She added, their sources are saying Yzerman becoming the next GM of the Red Wings, is pretty much a done deal. Oh, I'll add Jeff O'Neill was there too, but he was kind of a jerk. I said to him, how great a team the 2001-02 Hurricanes were, and how nervous I was playing them in the Final. He just kind of looked at me, and brushed me off. Whatever Jeff.

I don't think this is the trade that fixes us or anything but WOW Yzerman is a mad man No loyalty to Holland's players. The swift action is refreshing. I take back all I said thsi summer about Yzerman being more of the same. Tinker away Stevie boy. Acquire all the disappointing former 1st rounders. DLR is probs thrilled to be joining the Blues. I wouldn't go that far. I used to watch a lot more hockey. I don't have as much free time these days... I used to watch a lot of CHL games (mostly with Wings prospects), 50-60 Griffins games a season, and every Wings game. Now I barely watch anything outside of Wings games (still don't miss a single game), and maybe 10-20 Griffins games, and nothing noteworthy outside of that... I never voted Trudeau. You hate Canadians? Me neither. I know as much about politics as Jonas knows about hockey...
