Yup for sure lol ... thats why i think theres one contract the redwings 100% need to jump on ahead of other teams without a doubt . Marc andre fleury , apparently vegas doesnt want to retain any salary . No problem give us your 1st rd pick we’ll take him (29th pick, higher than what id want but beggars cant be choosers) Next, eat 50% off fleury’s contract and send him to another team for another 1st Dont think melnyk would eat up 7 mill for 2 1sts and dont know how many teams can compete with us for such a deal with fleury -

I know you guys love to hear the opinions of players mothers or coaches. https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/prospect-interest-cole-perfetti-become-canadian-kucherov/ “I think his ceiling's limitless. I think he could be one of the players out of this draft that goes on and plays 15 years, and has a lot of career accomplishments,” Lazary says. His vision of what Perfetti could be at his peak makes clear the scope of that first statement. “To me, his player comparable is Nikita Kucherov,” says the coach, citing the Russian winger who, two seasons ago, posted the NHL's highest single-season point total of the past two decades. “Kucherov played in the CHL, he's not overly lightning-quick with his skating, but man, his playmaking, his creativeness, his ability to manipulate defenders, his change of direction, his deception. All those things make Kucherov one of the best players in the National Hockey League". “And to me, when I watch Kucherov play, it's like watching Cole Perfetti play.” That's right. Kucherov plays like Perfetti. -

At this point I feel MAF is the best target. He can still get it done in goal and he'd bring an asset back. -

Sanderson is probably the prospect I know the least about in the top 10, but if Yzerman sees him as best player available, I'd be okay with the pick. There's no one that I'd really be pissed about taking in the "top 10", just some (Stutzle / Raymond) that I'd prefer over others, and some (Askarov) I'd be a little more concerned about than others... -

Word got out from a reliable source is all. that'll always get reported on. But any rejected offer sheet may never see the light of day. Bergevin could have denied it until the moment Aho signed it if he wanted to. But the cat got out fo the bag, so f*** it. Odds are Marner received one or two himself and rejected them. But nobody can get any concrete evidence on those. -

That's just it. Any news of a rejected offer sheet will always be a he said/she said sort of deal. Most offered contracts we never know about. -

1 pointI tried to find similar quotes about Rossi but there was none to be found. I googled and everything.

Unfortunately rejected offer sheets may or may not ever be known about. It's said Marner rejected a few. But without anything being signed, anyone can claim or deny an offering or offer of an offer sheet. -
1 pointI have a feeling we’ll be taking Perfetti, and I’m more and more okay with the idea of it.

This is also very likely true. Maybe he signs it in Tampa with f*** all for taxes, but not in Michigan. -

This doesn't happen, unless it's in the 7th round, like when Marty Brodeur announced his son Anthony with the last pick in 2013 for the Devils. Bertuzzi wasn't picked because he is Todd's nephew, just like Draper wouldn't be picked because he is Kris' son. That's literally all I was saying... -

And you know the same people b***ing that we took Todd's nephew, would be doing the same if we took Kris' son, despite knowing absolutely nothing about the player... -

We are in no position to do anything that gives up up a first, Sergachev or not. -
1 pointI hope not... He should, just like the next 10 general managers drafting after Yzerman should. The "other needs" should be first priority. Try to get Blomqvist in the 3rd round. Adding him, along with Larsson, Brattstrom, Eliasson, Petruzzelli and Gylander, I'm sure one would turn out to be an NHL quality starter. This would be worst case scenario for me. If we had two top 10 picks, and didn't take a single one of the elite forward prospects, it would be a massive fail in my opinion. No. This is an old and outdated hockeyism. Build up an elite core of forwards and defensemen, and add a capable goaltender. Because there are better forwards and defensemen available. Because forwards and defensemen are easier to project. Because goaltenders are a complete crap shoot to project. Because it's much easier to find an elite goaltender beyond the 1st round, than it is to find an elite skater. Because forwards and defensemen have more of an impact on the game, over an 82 game season and playoffs. Because a team needs 12 forwards, 6 defensemen and only 1 goaltender. etc, etc, etc... Or have Hakan Andersson there to make the pick (Raymond)...

1 pointIf we can get some good picks i'd take the Quick trade. Bernier's contract is over next summer so we'd have him as a starter for a couple years. And hopefully, we will have Askarov, and he's ready to go when Quick goes.
-
1 pointYeah, pretty much this. I'd much rather have Loui Eriksson and a 1st round pick (or whatever other asset), and let a replacement level player like Ehn or Erne walk...

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't qualify any of Ehn, Perlini or Erne. Especially if he is "open for business" to acquire Cap and assets. Those assets could very well be players that would make those three expendable (even more so.) But I guess if he qualified them for the 1 year, he could always waive them if he gets more players. -
