I expect the Blackhawks to win this game. I also expected the Ducks to beat the Red Wings and this series to be over by now. Winning Game 7 is going to be very tough, but if nothing else we have learned this team is resilient and never quits. Big guns need to come through offensively, limit defensive breakdowns, clear the front of the damn net and pray the refs don't have the desire to influence the outcome. Let's Go Red Wings!

Haven't read through the entire thread, mostly because I don't want to experience the frustration of watching the game live last night all over again. * The officiating was a joke. I don't want to go all Johnny Toews whiner here, but this is what fans of the NHL mean when they say refs far too often play a major role in the outcome of games. No hand pass on the Bickell goal? Obviously the penalty shot call was the back-breaker. The lack of consistency is what infuriates me the most. They get Kindl for interference very early and then the Blackhawks turn around and obstruct players coming into the zone all night with no penalties. I would prefer they let them play this time of year, but if you are going to blow the whistle, do it both ways. * Where are the Wings best players offensively? It isn't enough they are just negating Chicago's skill players for large chunks of the series. Franzen and Filppula are complete non-factors still. Meanwhile, Hossa was IMO the best player on the ice in Game 6. Franzen's act of being a playoff performer is over. He hasn't showed up there either now for years. Filppula shouldn't get re-signed no matter what the price is. There are better alternatives that will fit the Red Wings needs more this summer. * Drew Miller and Patrick Eaves are perfect role players. * The Wings PP is atrocious. Babs needs to go back to Pavel and Z together. * The Red Wings need three periods like the second period they played in Game 6. They can win Game 7, but it's going to be extremely challenging at this point. Everything is completely in the Blackhawks favor now.

In my mind, this is Game 7. Sure, the Wings will still have another chance to win the series should they falter tonight, but I do not want this going back to Chicago. The Red Wings need to get back to the physical play that got them three wins already. Hard on the forecheck and take away Chicago's speed and space in the neutral zone. I will be there tonight. Expecting the Joe to be more electric than ever for this one. Let's Go Red Wings!

Avoid the parking garage at all costs if you can. Besides being expensive, it takes forever to leave after the game. I generally park on Jefferson and just make the walk down to the Joe, but during the playoffs you have to get there a little earlier to find anything on the street. Have fun! The atmosphere is absolutely electric for a playoff game.

I voted DeKeyser. I have high hopes for both Nyquist and Tatar as well. The combination of speed, puck-moving ability and defensive positioning DeKeyser has shown already is unbelievable though. You don't see many d-men in this league that can excel in all of those areas.

Just curious, but what exactly has Filppula been good at this series? He isn't generating anything offensively.

Yeah, he's providing nothing to the team from an offensive standpoint. Let Fil walk, promote Tatar and sign a big goal-scoring winger instead this summer. Filppula has been largely invisible the entire season. Playing sound defensively isn't good enough when you get top-six minutes and substantial PP time.

Did Toews whine about the officiating tonight? It's only "too physical" when things aren't going in Chicago's favor.

So, we watch three stars in Chicago but NBC signs off like there's a fire in the booth when the Wings win?

Eddie sure is jovial tonight at the end of the game. Didn't say a word the past three broadcasts when the result was different. This looks like Game 1. Hopefully the Wings remember what they did in response to that again on Monday.

Well, Chicago wasn't going to just lay down and let their season end on home ice. Wings didn't match their itensity tonight. Monday with last change and having Z back out there against Toews should help. It would be really nice if Franzen and Filppula show up and contribute offensively. Hope this game doesn't turn out to be a momentum shift the other way.

Last change is benefitting Chicago a lot tonight. Their big line is completely controlling the play against Pavel's line.

Yeah, definitely agree it would be nice to see Z score a goal. However, his lack of goal-scoring doesn't frustrate me as much because of what you mentioned. What is Franzen doing when he isn't scoring goals?

Nice kill to end the period. PK looks great with Eaves and Miller. Down a goal isn't bad at all. They just need to limit the turnovers in the second. Franzen scoring some goals would be helpful too. He's just a complete non-factor.
