ECSF : New York Islanders vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

I thought that Tampa was winning the cup last year... I'd love to see them do it. They're a fantastic team with a lot of speed, depth and skill.

Andersson leaving the NHL after the Playoffs

I've thought Andersson's been good. He always moves his legs, is a good PK-er, and has a responsible hockey sense. He'll never score any goals, but he's really a perfect 4th liner. He just never played with anybody good.

    Larkin for ...

Larkin is way better than the market will value him, so he's just not the type of player that'll go. I can only see him getting traded for somebody very similar to him in ability, age and experience. Not sure who that'd be, and the Wings would have no reason to trade him for a guy in the same role.

    Roster Moves by the Wings

I'd like to see Anderson on the team. He's at least quick and defensively responsible. He gobbles up a spot without any risk.

Mantha threw some bombs. This is a freaking great preseason game. Awesome hit by 72

Maybe he thought he was on the bench and just wanted to stick his hand out? Little bit of an F-you to Babs? HAHA

Who Do You Think Will Lead the Wings In Scoring

I think Nyquist might turn into a Datsyuk-like player and put up more assists than goals each year. Tatar is going to be the benefactor of many beautiful setups.

Is Sheahan going to wear the A all season long or is this just a preseason thing?

So this is why teams hate the wings

Brad Stuart taking Perry down at 40 seconds. He made the Wings so dynamic

Tampa Bay Head Coach Jon Cooper Accuses Red Wings Of Cheating

Cooper's a big baby. Even though the Bolts won the series, having Cooper behind the bench is a big loss.

ECQF Game 7 GDT : at Lightning 2, Red Wings 0 (Tampa wins series, 4-3)

Maybe the last time we see Babcock in Detroit. It was fun, but maybe its time for a new message. A stomping by the Bruins sandwiched by two heart breaking game 7 losses. Howard didn't play a single game; I wonder how he feels. Tampa was the better team. Detroit almost made their defense/system look invincible. I believe we will see Tampa beat Montreal and head to the Conference Finals against New York. I think Detroit needs a new coach, should trade Howard, and should find some offensive threats in the off-season. Zetterberg has declined substantially, and well, where is the offense going to come from next season? I'm proud of our boys. They went further than I thought they would. They won three more games than the star-studded 2002-03 Red Wings. That team had Federov, Hull, Shanahan, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Larionov, Holmstrom, Malty, Draper, Robitaille, McCarty, Chelios, Schneider and Yzerman, to drop a few names. There have been many game 7s in this franchise's past 15 years. Maybe all it takes is a little bit a push to get this team over the hump and back into Stanley Cup contention. Never give up Wings! May we come out better next year, keep the streak going, and hey... maybe even make it out of the quarterfinals! Good luck to Tampa and everybody else still in the playoffs.

ECQF Game 7 GDT : at Lightning 2, Red Wings 0 (Tampa wins series, 4-3)

Detroit needs to find their transition game. I am concerned that they are struggling in the neutral zone.

ECQF Game 7 GDT : at Lightning 2, Red Wings 0 (Tampa wins series, 4-3)

The player who is going to score is going to be somebody with a simple genius to their game, like Datsyuk or something.

Smith had a good blast and nearly had it deflected in front of the net for a goal. Keep blasting it, Smitty. Watch and learn Danny D!

ECQF Game 7 GDT : at Lightning 2, Red Wings 0 (Tampa wins series, 4-3)

It may be 0-0, but this IS the type of game that Detroit wants. It's muddy and scrappy and the Wings have shown they usually win these games. Plus it's game 7, and the Wings have more playoff experience and seem calm and composed. I'm saying they're going to win this one.
