  1. I like the new divisions and especially the Great Lakes Division. The opportunity to rekindle old rivalries ie: Toronto and Montreal is a no brainer. What would be most interesting for Wings fans are the match ups between Ottawa, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh, possibly new rivalries. All venues are certainly within driving distance for most die hard fans. I think you would be hard pressed to find any tickets for these divisional games. This would make for an exciting season!!!!
  2. What about Montreal, Boston, New York- we never see them either. The regular season west coast trips suck too, never see any of those games. We probably miss watching about 20 games a season, unless you don't have to work in the morning and can stay up until 2-3AM during the week. It sucks!!! Should have left Tampa Bay in the West, move Detroit to the East!!!!
  3. As of the upcoming game 6 trip to Anaheim the Wings will have travelled 24,096 miles in thier Cup run. This is only 700 miles shy of a road trip around the earth. The return trip back to Detroit will put them past travelling around the planet. Does the NHL see anything wrong with this? Would this be an NHL record? Facts: To Calgary- 3,760 mile round trip * 2 trips = 7,520 miles To San Jose- 4,868 miles round trip * 2 trips = 9,736 miles To Anaheim- 4,560 miles round trip * 2 trips = 9,120 miles Total = 26,376 miles Talk about "Road Warriors" the Wings take the prize!!!!! GO WINGS!!!!

  5. They should be!!! remember the cost of living is much higher in Cal. You can afford them, and it doesnt put much of a dent in your 6 figure salary!!!
  6. Went to ticketmaster today. I can get 6 seats "in a row" in the lower bowl for Game 1 Friday "row 5" for a cool $1,654.50. Not including gas, parking, refreshments- so about $1800 for the whole family- yikes!!!! For most "fans" I know that's about 10% of their total yearly income. Blah!!! But, remember you do get a free white towel to wave at the game, or to cry on if they lose!!! Go Wings!!!
  7. We have Mr. Illitch to thank for taking the Red Wings away from their fans. Taking a family of 4 to "1" game will cost you at least $400 (cheap seats) or about $800 (decent seats) or $1500+ (good seats). That's for the Conference Final. If the Wings make it to the Stanley Cup Final prices double and I wouldn't be surprised if JLA is half empty. 3,000 season ticket holders turned down the playoff tickets because of the outrageous prices. If each of them had a minimum of 2 seats that leaves 6,000 tickets available for each game. That's almost one third the capacity of JLA. Believe me the true Red Wing fans want to be there!!! Give us a break. Hockey in Detroit no longer supports the blue collar fans who have filled JLA for the past 20 years. It's all about money and greed. I hope, if the Wings do make it to the Finals that JLA is empty. Maybe, we should rename Joe Louis Arena to the Joe Louis Opera House!!!! Thanks Mike!!!! Go Wings!!!!!!!!!
