I hate that the Preds' fans' negative cheering is so scripted. If a goalie lets in a soft one, sure, get the sing-song chant of his name going. He deserves it. On the other hand, if he just made a fantastic save but his own man muffed the clear and put it in, that's not on him. If his D left him out to dry on a 2-on-0, that's not on him. If a Pred was sitting in Murray's lap like it was story time at the daycare, it's not the goalie's fault. When you jeer a goalie after every goal, especially if he made a valiant effort, you sound like you don't know the game and are just following along with the jumbotron. That said... NO ONE is allowed to take our "last team to repeat" status. Not here. Not now. Not ever. I shall remind myself how annoyed Shea Weber will be if Nashville wins and root heartily for the Preds.

I'm finding it ironic that I used to only cheer the Preds on because loved Tootoo. Now I'm rooting them on because they're playing a team I hate, of which Tootoo is a member. Go Preds.

Easter Sunday (as a Christian holiday, which is what I'm assuming you're asking about) bunnies, and eggs are all related to new life. Eggs because (if fertilized) they're baby animals, bunnies because they produce a lot of offspring, and the Resurrection because it's the promise of eternal life. All are celebrated in the spring since that's when the world comes alive again after winter. The older holidays, from which we get the eggs and bunnies, were celebrated at the Vernal Equinox, or at least around the time when the snow left and life started "springing" forth. Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox in order to keep it in line with Passover, which is celebrated by the Jewish people according to their lunar calendar, and plays a big part in whole pre-story of Easter. We celebrate them all together now since many of the older cultures who previously celebrated the Spring festivals also celebrate Easter and the traditions carried over and mingled. If they don't go in 2018, and if the sanctions against players who do try to go are too high for the average player, I wonder how many players will negotiate their contracts so that they will end before the next Olympics, and then the year of the Olympics take a year away from the NHL (KHL, Sweden, whatever) with an agreement from the team that they be allowed off for the Olympics. Probably not a lot of US/Canadian players, but I can see some of the European players doing it.

I like Hitch and respect him as a coach. The only reason I don't want him here is selfish. Whenever we play him, I can't even watch with people here because it is a barrage of comments about how he is no good as a person because he's fat. As a fat person, I find it hard to focus on the game when people are being so shallow and cruel. If he coached here, you'd hear it every single time someone disagreed with him. Bad PP? Hitch eats donuts. Bad PK? Hitch eats donuts. Bad anthem singer on the 2nd stop of our road trip? Hitch eats donuts. On behalf of Michigandrian donut lovers, I say pass....... the sprinkles.
