+1.

Sweet move by Dats behind the net.

Interestng to see that TSN are reporting that Stefan Liv gave a 'stellar' performance in the Bronze medal game.
-
Kopecky has 15 hits in the playoffs, behind Helm, Cleary, Hossa, Ericsson, Kronwall, Stuart and Datsyuk.

I can vouch for the Marriott Renaissance, very nice place, stayed there back in October when I was at the season opener.

Go Wings!

You think he would be manhandled and would like Meech in the lineup instead? You do realise that Meech is 1 inch taller and 3 pounds lighter than Rafalski? Not to mention that Rafalski is an experienced player who has played at a high level for years while Meech has never played an NHL playoff game in his career.

Goaliepost is a great resource for finding out starting goalies, I use it all the time for my fantasy league.
-
Didn't he first do that move while playing in/for Russia before he did it on Turco?
-
Hossa has a NTC, he can't be traded, even if he could it be terrible for the Wings for 2 reasons - 1. We'd lose a great player and 2. Sign and trade is a no-no, especially for a team like Detroit that is know for its loyalty.

The great swedish drafting could be better actually
IrishWing19 replied to Phazon's topic in General
I don't understand why you're complaining, the Wings can't draft everyone. Every team in the league has draft regrets but Detroit has done well, every other team in the league wishes they could have drafted Datsyuk or Zetterberg, especially since they had multiple chances to so. The only recent regret is that the Wings somehow missed Lundqvist, but you win some, you lose some. By your reasoning Holland should be fired for having missed out on Malkin or Ovechkin. -
No, it was posted by someone who hasn't been watching the Wings at all this year. Considering he calls out Sammy, who has been playing out of his mind and way above his pay grade.

Becuase the Wings cap situation means we can't call up someone on a whim. Since it's only been confirmed Cleary is out 2-3weeks he can be placed on retro-activate LTIR and we'll have cap space to bring up Leino, Helm or Abdelkader.

That was a little harsh to pull Anderson already, the 2nd goal was well screened and probably tipped in front.
-
Great work by Malts there.

Hossa was on the ice with Cleary becuase they are quality defensive forwards and the Wings were trying to hold onto a one goal lead. If you actually paid attention to the game after Hossa threw the pass to Cleary, Hossa was never in a position to receive a drop for the hat tirck, he wasn't even in the zone. In fact, you can see that Hossa stops skating, if you want to give out about any player on that play it should be Hossa, he should have been hustling into a position to defend a possible turnover.

With Detroit so up against the cap no team was going to make a a fair trade, any smart GM would be saying no and forcing Detroit to waive him so they can put in a claim and get him for free.

Details of the ceremony have just been released on MLive Can't wait, only 3 more days!

Hey sorry I haven't been on in an age, up to my eyes in work, beer sounds like a good idea though!
-
I hope so too, can't wait at this stage, less than a week to go!

I remember hearing that everyone at the game will be given a mini replica of the banner that will go to the rafters that night. I hope so, I'm flying over for the game from Ireland and it'd be a very nice touch.

So would "Next Stop... the Minor Leagues".

Its down the very bottom link Congrats to him!

I'd agree that he's the best player in the league simply because his play has been at such a high level for many, many years. His level of consistency sets him apart from pretty much everyone, I'm not doubting that Crosby and Ovechkin are fantastic players and I can easily see why people would pick them as the best but my opinion is that they haven't done it for long enough to be better than Lidstom. Also, on a nightly basis Lidstrom makes the best players in the league look ordinary, but its a rare occassion when he has an off night and those same best players make him look like he should be on the 3rd defensive paring.
