Wow, what a surprise that the officials blow yet another call. I've almost learned to live with the nightly lame-ass, non-existent hooking, tripping or interference calls but now these pinheads can't even get replay calls right. More good news ahead for the ongoing joke called hockey officiating.... Seven National Hockey League referees and six NHL linesmen were named on Thursday to work at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver next February. The referees are Paul Devorski, Mark Joannette, Dennis LaRue, Bill McCreary, Dan O'Halloran, Chris Rooney and Brad Watson. The linesmen include Shane Heyer, Jean Morin, Brian Murphy, Thor Nelson, Tim Nowak and Jay Sharrers. Bowman for commish Bettman must GO!!!!

Not ot mention the B.S. interference calls and subsequent waived off goals!!! What the league really needs is a new commisioner who knows something about hockey. This Morons' justification for making these assinine and ignorant calls is only exceeded by his idiocy that these new rules will bring in new fans. It's a lil hard to bring in new fans to hockey when they have absolutely no idea what constitutes a penalty. Us true fans have the impossible task of trying top explain the rules which, lets be honest the refs don't even know what constitutes a penalties!! I've got just about every reg. season 07-08 game ( missed maybe 2) and every playoff game. If you and others can come up with specific games and possible time of the game when the hits take place I'll be more than happy to be your source of vid material.

I have no idea where you got the "one high stick" from that was nowhere in my post and the interference calls/non-calls have been running rampant in these playoffs. I'm guessing that the penalties the Pens got away with were o.k. with you Numba 66 including the couple of high sticks you're team has gotten away with because the refs supposedly "didn't see them". Let's be honest the impact of that high stick was so weak that the only way it drew blood was if the Pen player used the old wrestling maneuver and used something to cut himself and insure blood. None of those calls should have been made in the OT periods including the hooking call against the Pens. Didn't hockey used to a sport for warriors not figure skaters. As a matter of fact I think that their actually is more contact allowed in every other sport on the planet. Buttnugget has turned the NHL into the International Ice Dancing Federation, PLEASE someone peg this ass in the head in Pittsburgh with an Octopi!!!!!

And you're basing that on what? I've rewatched the game once and the 3rd period and O.T.'s multiple times and the blatant (not that ticky tack the stick was parallel to the ice crap) calls that were missed and the crap that was actually called went in the pens favor plus the ridiculous amount of face off debacles turned what should have been a great game into a joke.

The incompetence of the refs in the game and especially the 3rd period wasn't because of the calls the Refs actually made it was the lack of calls made. The refs allowed the Pens to hook, obstruct and trip pretty much non-stop. I just finished re-watching the game and trust me if the roles were reversed we would've seen Therrien s***tin' kittens. I'm re-watching and burning last nights/this mornings game and the face off redrops were absolutely ridiculous. Filppula owned the Pens on face-offs and of course was eventually either tossed from the circle or had to deal with the re-drop. I lost count of how many hooks, obstruction or tripping calls that the pens were allowed to get away with in the 3rd which of course allowed them the 6 on 5 pullled goalie ending. THE REFS INJECTED THEMSELVES INTO THIS GAME AND GREATLY AFFECTED IT'S OUTCOME, PROBABLY AT GARY 'THE FOOL" BUTTNUGGETS BEHEST. WINGS IN 6, 4-1 FINAL SCORE WITH HOMER SCORING THE CUP WINNER!

The 3rd, 4th and 5th periods were the worst called I can remember in the Cup Finals!! The blatant lack of calls against the Pens, especially in the 3rd, absolutely amazed me. Those goalie interference calls in the 4th and 5th periods were a prime example of buttnuggets minor league demon self on a power trip. Buttnugget is the second most incompetent minor league demon in power, the other of course is that waste of life: BUSH!

An understanding of: Hockey!!! The game, the tradition, the true love of the true fans, knowledge of how to market the game, a public flogging for his sins against the game and most importantly his walking papers!!!!! Cherry or Bowman for commish!!!!

I'm sorry but the refs deserve a good amount of the blame for this Wings loss. How many hooking, obstruction and tripping penalties against the Pens could've and should've been called in the 3rd period. Instead of a 6 on 5 when the Pens pulled Fleury, at best it should've been 5 on 5 with the empty net. When the announcers on NBC and CBC are both criticizing the goalie interference calls you know that some kind of B.S. is going on. Their may be a small amount of blame for us here at LGW, Gary Buttnugget probably had some spies on our site and tilted the ring towards the Pens because of the Bounty on his incompetent ass. So all Pit. Fans should be eleigible for the bounty after we win the Cup there. So Pen fans a challenge has been issued to you, when the Wings win the puck there peg that ignorant, incompetent waste of air and space in the head or whatever body part you can make contact with!!!!! Force the Humiliation upon the FOOL with the splatting of the Octopi to replace the humiliation he should actually feel for his raping of the sport that all of us LOVE!!!!

I've been bitching about this fool since I joined this site however many years ago it was. I would prefer a more permanent solution dealing with this waste of space. I'm in for $10.00 to see him experience the humiliation that he should already feel for what he's done to Hockey.

Actually the Sabres/Stars incident was stated as only an example of the Refs not enforcing the rules. No I'm not saying, with any certainty, that Buff would've gone on to win the cup. My point was that because of a lack of enforcement of the rules in effect at the time the Sabres were denied a chance to win that game and force a game 7 with a win. Gary Bettman has turned the league into a joke and relegated the sport to something that most papers and sports shows consider a waste of time to cover. I love the Wings and live hockey and it absolutely crushes me to see what has happened hockey!!!! By the way, your lack of disgust at whats happened to Hockey and condescension of my example and general attitude towards Hockey speaks volumes of your arrogance in assuming that the cup/game result was my point in my statement. It's just another example of Bettmans ridiculous power trip. It's not like this is the first raping of a playoff goal / or disallowed goal that costs games. Does anybody remember the goal that should not have counted in the 1999 Stanley Cup Finals that allowed them to hand (unearned) the Stanley Cup to Dallas. Unfortunately this is not the first incident in this playoffs. Lets not forget that this is not the first time the Wings have been ganked on disallowed goals and Willy Weak Ass calls.
