Ok, so it wasn't just me. I wanted to ask him if he was OK but I didn't want to make him sadder by bringing it back up. Poor little thing needed a hug.
-
IDK if it was just me, but at Hockeyfest today Kindl still looked pretty upset. He looked very rough and weary, wasn't very talkative, and had to have smiles coaxed out of him. I felt so bad for him. (((

Yeah, you're better off not. The pics from yahoo were really bad and tasteless.

I can't stop crying...I'm just speechless. Makes you realize that these aren't just defense coaches or 6th D-men, or All-star forwards. They're people. Too often we look at bad coaching or a bad shift and don't see that they're people playing a sport...it's just a sport. Just a game that doesn't matter. What matters is life, and it is a fragile thing. Lord, be with their families.

I thought Nick was a Swede. What's he doing looking like a Spartan from 300?

This is a sad off-season...I'm glad I got to meet him while he was still playing. Thanks for being such a boss all the time Drapes...good luck in the future.
-
That's debatable.

Draper for sure. He may be older, but he knows his role, does it well, and does it with confidence. The same can't be said with Hudler.

Old Video - Boston Bruins Fan Punches Steve Yzerman

I'm pretty sure that earned the fan a one way ticket to Hell. -
"We went home, he said 'I want you to be a goalie.' It ended up that it's turned out alright." No Ozzie, it turned out more than alright. It turned out great. Thanks for being so clutch, so sweet, and so funny. I'm really going to miss all those "Ozz-ie! Ozz-ie!" chants as well as "The Great Oz has spoken" and all the other things they did. He was a huge part of this team and I'm really gonna miss him... :(

He never got to 403 like he wanted, but I think it was time he hung em up...

I am raging so hard right now...

Does this mean I can buy a Nick jersey now?

Nick Lidstrom paddle boards on water...as opposed to walking on it.

Oh c'mon, why'd my post get deleted? Yes, he went to school at Southfield Christian. -

YES!!! My head was exploding when that happened, I could not believe that RAFFY of all people did that! It was SO awesome. -

I love the verse he used. I was expecting Jeremiah 29:11, but Romans 8:28 is great too. Such a normal and down to earth guy. And I'll always remember the time when he body slammed Lee Stempniak I'll definitely miss him. Good luck and God bless, Raffy! -
His face after that goal will always stick in my mind. I couldn't believe his eyebrows could go that far up his head!! Last goal in game 5 and first goal in game 6! He was great that year. I'm actually going to miss him. He did have some bad turnovers, but he worked well with Nick(when paired with him) and he just seemed like an average Joe who played professional hockey. Oh and he was a fricking beast in the Olympics!!! Best of luck to ya Raffy.

You know, the off-season would be so much easier if I didn't love this team.

Ummmm WHAT??? Why!!? Maybe it's a large typo and they meant Modano. Raffy still has 1 year on his contract right? -
What a loss! Puts things in perspective that players are still human and games are just games. My thoughts and prayers are with the Boogaard family. RIP Boogeyman. The NHL will miss guys like you.

You know you're right. God doesn't care about sports, but he does care about the people who care about them. And how do you know God wasn't the reason we won three games? Bear with me here. Let's say (just pretend, I'm not speaking for anyone) some of the players believe in God. They go to Him in prayer, in a time of need, and it comforts them and gives them hope. Say they take that confidence with them into the game. They win. Now, indirectly God would have been responsible for the win. Did he make the puck magically go in the net? No, of course not. But the effect He had on the players may have given them strength to win. Belief is a strong thing, not just belief in God, but belief in anything, say a hockey team(1998 "Believe" ring a bell?). And as far as God caring more about hockey than starvation in Africa or mass genocide, you have to remember that with good in the world there also comes bad. Maybe people are helping 3rd world countries with charities and relief efforts and such, but there might be some corruption where the money goes somewhere else rather than where it's needed. Hitler, he was an evil dude, but he had free will. Free will to choose to do evil or do good. And as long as there are people who choose evil as opposed to good, evil things will continue to happen.

Resilient til the end. I will always love my Wings. SO proud of them!!!!

I knew you would say something like that! You know, have you ever heard of unanswered prayers being a great gift? Things don't always go as you plan them. And the whole point of this thread was to inspire with words of encouragement not say "We're going to win because I asked God for a victory." Why some people have to go digging for a fight I'll never understand. I for one am very proud of this teams and look forward to next season. Angel or not.

Me too!!! Oh wait. I only have one...never mind. GO WINGS!!
