Z and D for the C

I'm curious, being that both Quebec and Winnipeg just recently had teams leave because of financial issues, why do people want teams there again? It's been proven that they can't support NHL teams. Unless I'm missing something, I just don't get it. It's like saying we should elect Bush again. The teams left there for a reason, there is no reason to put them back where they failed already. I'd rather see a team in Seattle or Kansas.

How long have you had it? If it has existed for a while I probably don't get it.

I think it shows intent of the Wings' front office. Everyone knows that Maltby is probably never going to play in a Wings uniform again. Even on injury call ups, we'd have to lose half our team for him to even be on the scratched roster up with the wings. What I think they're going to do is, on the NHl salary, give him an outrageous amount like 1-1.5m and then a "normal" AHL salary. This way the Wings organization is still great to Maltby, what with paying him, but he's pretty much sure to clear waivers because no one would pick him up at that NHL salary. Because as far as I know he still has to clear waivers to go to GR, but I might be wrong.

Babcock says he is going to start with Bertuzzi and Hudler switched but yeah, those are pretty much our lines for the season barring injury. Stuart.

So solid 4th line = fighting? You're mixing concepts in a major way. We have a very solid 4th line. Eaves Abds Helm. Probably one of the best 4th lines in the league. Twice as good as Pittsburgh's 4th line.

He hit the nail on the head there. Filppula is as good as his confidence will take him. That goal he scored from the outside of the circles last year against the coyotes last year is a perfect example of that.

He's the best at what he does and he'll be remembered for it, but not a HOFer.

It would be a line only inside the net that, if the puck touched at all, would be a goal. It's not completely necessary, but it is one of the better ideas on that list.

Out of the choices, I think Filppula. Helm, Abds are too young to tell and Howard might ask for too much money for Kenny to give him if he is as good as we all think.

If Z gets 40, I'll be ecstatic. Anything else is gravy.

Datsyuk and Hudler should always be the first two to go, after that Babs should rotate Bertuzzi, Franzen, Modano, Z and Filppula.

The third line will likely take some of the shine from the 4th line, which like you mentioned, is also an amazing 4th line. I really like our team this year. We should easily be favorites out of the west.
