Dude what world are you living in? 07-08 was his second season, how much more could you expect out of him than doubling his point total from his rookie year? 08-09 he never had a semblance of a chance on the 2nd line until the second half of the playoffs and last year he still played with 3rd/4th liners for half the year yet still put up 12 points in 15 games after he came back from his injury playing with Ritola/Abds/Williams/Cleary. I could call that carrying his line. If Flip spends the year on the second line and gets adequate PP time and gets under 60 points/60 point pace I'll never post on this board again. And you can quote me on that one year from now. (I won't actually stop posting, but I'm willing to risk taking the reputational sacrifice)

I think Abds will do real well with Hudler and Cleary on his wings. He's never really had the consistent linemates to make that next step.
-
Too late. Thanks a lot.
-
Illitch should get an MLS team for Detroit next.
-
No, Filppula is on the second line. hoho
-
I really like these lines. It sucks for Hudler to be on that third line as I do think he deserves a(n extended) shot on the top lines, but he'll bring a lot of offense for the team and will be better for the team. I think it's a given that Hudler is going to do well and I'm sure he'll get his chance on the top lines eventually. I'd still like to find a better third line center though.

How are the Jersey's made for the player so fast?
-
So it might make the correct call percentage go from 50% to 49%? Big deal.
-
Rules against diving need to be enforced. It's such bulls*** that players can get away with anything. If a ref thinks a player is diving, then he needs to be penalized. If he's wrong and it was legit, it's not like the refs always make the right calls anyway.

Not even close. A bit over priced? Yes, but not by much.
-
You realize Cleary is 31 right? If we could trade Cleary and a pick/prospect for Savard you'd be a fool to not do it. Unfortunately Boston would never take that.
-
Maybe...Helm and a third? Not sure the contract is worth Hudler and a first...maybe Huds and a second round or mid level prospect. But for all we know it could be a lateral trade. Probably not worth losing Hudler. Definitely not worth losing Flip. Besides, seriously, the Wings just signed Flip's brother. There is ZERO chance they're even CONSIDERING trading Filppula.

Shinedown is my favorite band but I think this was a bad performance. Brent Smith sounded too raspy. He has an incredible voice otherwise. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo203iTX7vg

I sense jealousy. Edit: Lightning fast "negging" there.

THANK YOU FOR HAIR CUT KANE

My thoughts exactly. This will be better for Nabby.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that the 07 Ducks are mostly gone. I hated them, but I loved to hate them.

That lineup would be awesome. Cup winning. I'd switch Hudler and Filppula though.

Blackhawks playing Wings for banner raising game
Z and D for the C replied to HockeyTownHouligan's topic in General
Yes, because only the Red Wings are mad that the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup instead of them. All other 28 teams, including the four they played in the playoffs (read: not us), wanted the Blackhawks to win the Stanley Cup. -
I doubt he'll start the season but I'm sure he'll come up due to injuries at some point during the season. It'd be pretty cool if he and val could play on the same line for a game or two.
-
I'd buy it.

Holland thinking of re-signing Kirk Maltby
Z and D for the C replied to uk_redwing's topic in General
If it's a 2 way deal that's fine, but for the love of GOD do not give him a one way deal. PLEASE. -
somehow, we need to get a scoring third line center...
Z and D for the C replied to a topic in General
I'm sure that has nothing to do with their PP linemates. I like how you pick out only that part of my post to respond to. And I didn't say he "didn't get points". Actually, when he got injured, Val was just getting on a roll. He went pointless in the first 3 games (which is expected, playing with forwards he never did in his career) and then went the next 8 games with 6 points before he got injured. And you missed the other part of my point. Up until when he started playing with Z and Bert, he was still playing with third liners in that 33 game stretch with 28 points. And there you go again, bring up rookie years like it matters. I concede here, Eva. Hudler developed faster. Yippee. Put 10 points on the scoreboard for you. The fact remains is that in 08-09, you could easily argue (using numbers, not qualitative crap like "but huddles has better hands!!!") that if you gave Filppula Hudler's PP Time, Filppula would be scoring (almost) 60 points and Hudler wouldn't break 40. Do you love it as much as I do?
