Correct me if I'm wrong, here, but when I look at his career numbers , its not like Grigorenko has been lightin' the lamp like a scoring machine. I mean, his numbers are good , but definitely not great. Therefore, I guess the Wing's scouts see an awful lot of unrealized potential that they think can be groomed similar to the Datsyuk and Zetterberg processes. The Wings have obviously been great at drafting talent before it blossoms and is then seen by every other team too.. That seems to be the case with Grigorenko too, but for various reasons, it may not pan out. I have no expectation that Grigorenko will contribute any real numbers this year. Believe me, I would like to be pleasantly suprised, but I don't expect to be.
I think many have gotten emotionally attatched to the image of Grigs created by all the hype, and are now frustrated and feel letdown.
