  1. It doesn't have much to do with Commodore, really. I mean even if he is waived, that means one of Ericsson or Kindl is rotating in and out with Smith. Unless Smith is getting regular ice time, there's no point in keeping him up here to sit as a healthy scratch for periods of time when he can play top minutes in the AHL.

I can't see him being given a job over Ericsson or Kindl, (not that his play hasn't shown he deserves it) because it's just not generally how the Wings do things. Could surprise me though, as I'm already a bit surprised they're keeping him up now. The question is, is he as good/better than Ericsson or Kindl in the eyes of the Red Wings brass?

Thanks to all those that responded, i got really sick the last couple months and have lost track. At least imbeing brought up to speed, this came up in a facebook group.

I think i know which angle imgoing to go with ! thanks guys!!! :)

  2. I've got to believe the Sens can find someone more qualified

...but if they can't, then who? I know Cheli's and Hitch's names have been thrown around for defense, but what about Larry Murphy? I wonder if there is any kind of out clause in his FSN contract for something like this?

On offense... uh... probably no way Shanahan would want it. Think someone like Pat Verbeek would be any good? I know he scouted for us for a while. Ciccarelli would probably know how to beat a system into players' heads (harharhar).

None of those names really sit right with me...

you're Right, Shanahan Wouldnt want it, I think he likes working in the NHL office. and Im not sure Murph wants to do coaching, I have never heard an expression to be a coach i think he likes commentary on Fsn.

Verbeek is an amazing player but question would be, would he want it? Cheli would be a great pick! no one i think would be more deserving, and we know Hitch is good.

  3. I didnt really care one way or the other, all he would have been is the back up. Howard is still the guy. And if Howard doesnt play well and its not the guy, I cant see the Wings winning a cup with Nabby. He is a playoff choker.

out of curiousity and subtleness I ask this... have you talked to Babcock? do you really know that if Nabokov wouldve been in Detroit that he wouldve been backup? that is the most goofiest thing i have ever heard in my life.. No offense, to noone but are u kidding?
