I don't see how you can take Joey Mac out of the net until he loses. I like Jimmy, but as Mickey would say, MAC is "hotter than a firecracker" right now. Lets ride J-MAC until he loses a game!

The Helm, Miller, Abbs line was great today! Our scoring depth is unreal.

I think Howard is probably close to having the finger healed, but he might be rusty after sitting. Joey really MACimizes our chances to win and to continue the home streak.

Love this signing. Hope he can back up Jimmy again and push him for the #1 spot like he did last year.

J-MAC has been awesome this year. I'd like to see him start at least half of the remaining games. If he continues to look better than Howard, I hope he starts for us in the playoffs. Howard is too inconsistent as of late and Joey has looked very solid.

I wonder if Lebda has already had a few too many drinks today...

Datsyuk's contract is looking like a damn good deal now Pavel has definitely become my favorite player on the Wings. I've liked him since his very first days on the two kids and a goat line in 02. You could tell he was going to be a great offensive player back then, but I had no idea how much he would improve his defensive and physical game. He is the total package now, one of the top 5 players in the NHL(in my opinion), and it's crazy how humble he is for being such an awesome player.

Hopefully, Stuart will take a little less money to stay with us, on a good team, where he fits in well. He and Kronner make a great pairing .

I hope somebody can youtube the postgame celebrations. I live in Michigan and this was the worst postgame coverage you could imagine for a Stanley Cup win. NBC covered the celebration for a few minutes, then switched over to our local news...Nothing worth watching on ESPN(big surprise) and FSN is playing a freaking replay of a tigers loss! At least I could watch some of the CBC feed online for a bit...OH WELL WE WON THE CUP!!!!!

I don't think there is any question that Mac will be out of the lineup. Nothing against Mac at all, but he is only averaging about 6:30 of ice-time per game and yet somehow he is 2ND on the team in penalty minutes. He doesn't kill penalties and isn't any more of a scoring threat than Maltby, plus he's slow and seems to be a defensive liability. Maltby is averaging about 10mins of ice-time per game since he's returned. Maltby is a great penalty killer and usually draws more penalties than he takes. He's also a much faster skater and a better 2-way player. Maltby stays in.

Exactly. If you are going to call that weak crap as interference, do it from the beginning of the season, on any and all players, with consistency. I've seen some bad calls on Homer in the regular season and now the playoffs, but that was the worst. I don't believe in any conspiracy theories, but I do believe that it was a terrible call based purely on reputation and not what actually happened. Hopefully, that is the last goal ever waived off because someone's stick was near the goalie's pads.

I liked that part of the game where Malkin seemed to control the puck for a moment in the Wings' zone and then bam, Datsyuk hit him into the boards, takes the puck from him and brings in into the Pens' zone for a scoring chance.

Would Goaltender Interference have been called on Homer if there was no shot on goal and the puck never went in?

In my opinion, Datsyuk has been the best player for the Wings throughout the playoffs. He might not show up on the stat sheet every night, but he's been consistently great at both ends of the rink in every game so far! The physical part of his game that he's showing this year is really opening some eyes. Zetterberg could easily win it though, because he's leading in goals and pts, for now, and he has been right up there with Pavel for great play at both ends of the ice. It's hard to pick between the two of them. Ozzie definitely deserves to be mentioned, but I think it will go to D or Z, IF the Wings win the series.

I was one who was around before 2002...I posted under a different name before we had to re-register though and CUJO#31, I know you remember this screenname because we used to debate quite a bit about who should have been our #1, CUJO or Manny. I don't post much anymore, but check the site fairly often.
