No, he said we were the front-runners.

Nashville has just made a huge offer for Blake per Eklund. I know... but it seems like all our rivals are trying to snap up any chance we have to obtain that scoring winger with grit... This sucks!
-
Support the team, but still watch them lose. We haven't given up on the Wings, the GM has given up on the fans. Nothing brings more revenue than a High Profile signing. No offense, but I'm not running out to get my Kyle Calder jersey. Holland is an idiot.
-
Another bad playoff year. Holland should get the axe.
-
Wings acquire Kyle Calder in 3-way deal
NAVYWING replied to WingsFANstuckintheSOUTH's topic in General
Good: Williams is off the books and the point. Bad: We aquired a rental like Williams. Calder is a hefty -31 because Philly used him on the Penalty Kill all the time.. he has 2 SHG. Edit: Spelling. Williams and Calder are spelled the same in my head. -
Isn't that why we brought in Robitaille and Hasek??? KT might need to go to a contender to get what he feels he deserves. I say get Big Bert and KT. That's some serious size/grit.
-
Grand Rapids needs some scoring help. Send him down for the rest of the season, then buy his contract out for 2/3 value. This guy is a hoser.
-
No, it was all the same person. And I said that he doesn't know crap.
-
:violin: :caution: You don't know crap

If they play Howard, it will be for scouting purposes.
-
Trading Lang after the aquisition of Foresberg is a salary dump move. He will do this to "replenish" the prospects/picks he gives up for Foresberg. If Holland was smart, he could swing a Lang/williams/2nd for Foresberg deal.
-
Agreed!!! Can everything swing fast enough to still bring in Guerin or Bertuzzi??? Still need size/grit. Datsyuk/Zetterberg/Holmstrom Guerin/Forseberg/Samuelson Maltby/Draper/Franzen Hudler/Filppula/Williams edit: Spelling

There is more ice surface away from the boards.

Here's the link: Bert + Horton

Half of Detroit have played with Foppa at one time or another in Sweden. He is the Swedish National Hero, and there isn't a player in Detroit who WOULDN'T want him.
-
Holland will botch it again. He will get a guy that is soft because there won't be anyone left. He'll say "I wanted to wait until the last minute to get the most for our money. It's to bad that Philly, Pheonix and Toronto were asking so much for Foresberg, Doan, Nagy, Tucker, and Sundin. I think with Lilja's grit and determination, he will really get this team kick started in the playoffs."
-
XM reported that Holland has already made a heavily incentived contract offewr to Hasek this weekend. This rumor is unfortunately true.
-
This is another example of Holland being "loyal" to a player at the expense of the team... see Robitaile, Hull and Hasek in 2003/2004. I love Shanny, but that 4 mil would be better spent going to 4.5 long term on Gagne (RFA). Shanny is 37... and that is way to old for that kind of money. I would give him an incentive program. All indications in the past say that Shanny will perform in his contract year, and fall on his face the next.
-
Spector's Shanny still may goto Boston, We are getting Belfour... and you already know about Stevie.
-
I would trade Ozzie for future considerations.
-
Lang, Legace, 1st Rounder, and Hudler for Jokinen and Luongo.
-
I watched the game last night per Anahiem's broadcast. Ken Holland was there (he doesn't generally travel with the team) and I truly believe he was there to talk trade for Penner/Salei/Giggy. I am not saying all three, however he discussed bolstering a depth forward and defense. He didn't mention a goalie, but the announcers for the game mentioned Detroit may seek a goalie. I think the long term would say that Penner will be better than Hudler, although pure talent says the otherwise. I could see the following: Hudler-Lebda-Kopecky-2nd rounder- to Anehiem for Salei/Penner/Giggy
-
Justin Penner Here's his stats. Played 15 games with the big club... good numbers actually.
-
I would hold on to Hudler. Jason Williams is about as effective as Maltby... not much. Hudler has first-line forward talent, and if the right boot fits up his ass, he will really turn heads when he gets going. Williams doesn't deserve any more than checking line minutes. I'd trade Williams just for a bag of pucks.
