Well said. If we win tn it puts us 2 up on Toronto with 2 games in hand still which is huge. If the leafs lose tn they are all but out of it so it'll be down to us , Columbus and the caps. We would also go 2 points up on the caps and the jackets if they lose tn. This game is huge therefore.

I like the fact that he actually called them all out on it. I think we are going to see a big game from the vets ie franzen and Alfie as they will respond to being challenged by Babs. The key is to get on them early to create doubt because the leafs have very little confidence left. Having said that, jimmy needs to be big early because the leafs know if they lose tomorrow, that's pretty well the season for them. I live in Windsor and most my friends are leafs fans so come on wings/griffins get us a big win!

I think when he comes back he should play wing to make it easier for him to adjust. Either way pav will be back that's all that matters to me right now I miss watching him play so much lol. He will carry the team with the kids.

Apparently he skated the last two days and will practice with the team on Tuesday. So hoping he can get going because he is a good player I don't care what anyone says if he can get going.

Given the news on pav he I'll for sure be playing next Wednesday the only reason he might not is because its Boston and the wings won't want the bruins taking runs at him therefore they may opt to keep pav out til Friday against buffalo. The options with pav Weiss and Abby all back are nice to have and will make the team much better. Nyqyist-pav-alfie (I think this is the best way to use alfie and I really want to see Nyquist with pav) Jurco-sheahan- Tatar (no reason not to keep them together) Franzen- helm- Weiss Abby- legwand- Miller/ glendening

I think when Pav comes back he is gonna be unreal and the team won't lose again until they eventually hoist the Cup in June.... one could only hope lol But seriously, I think when he returns its going to be a HUGE lift for the team. Pav at 70% is better then any of the veterans currently playing at 100%. I am still very optimistic about this season. We are going to win both games this weekend and the board will be back to saying Babs should get coach of the year, and this will all be in the past.

Makes you wonder if they surprise the leafs and play in pav tomorrow night.

We really need to win both games this weekend cuz we play Boston after that. I have a good feeling for this weekend I think we see big games from not just the kids. This was literally the first time I've ever heard babs basically call out all the veterans.... I think that'll get them geared up for the weekend. Beyond that, I bet pav is back Wednesday vs Boston or Friday at the latest against buffalo which will be huuugeeee.

I don't care what numbers your looking at jimmy is not good enough this year plain and simple. Tn was not his fault but eventually he has to make saves to win games. We tie it 3 to 3 and they score right after. I don't care if it deflected. How come king Henrik and Rask and even bernier can consistently make timely saves even with deflections? That's a point in the game where he simply has to find a way to save it. Tatar even said that was a let down when it went in.

The habs aren't a bad team by any means. So that statement made no sense. We still have a game in hand against the leafs so let's just beat them Saturday I have a good feeling babs will have them ready. Even better if Toronto loses tomorrow because of they lose tomorrow and the wings best them sat nite, that would only give the leafs 5 games.

Some people alwuas have an excuse for jimmy... O he had no chance on most of those goals... Fact is good goalies come up with big saves. I'm not saying he costed us the game but the fact is he didn't make many timely saves. I watched the rangers game last night and Lundquist made several unreal saves to keep his team in it and I mean several. Many of the saves he made would be what some of you say are impossible shots to stop for Howard. Fact is, this was a big game and jimmy just wasn't good enough. Having said that, the rest of the team didn't help apart from the kids. I want to see more kids playing next game 20 min ice time for them ... There is just no reason that they continue to not get the top minutes when it is so clear they are not only the only ones trying hard, but they are literally carrying the team. Lastly, its abundantly clear the officials were one sided tonight. The NHL would want nothing more then the wings and leafs to be tied in points Saturday night making the game even more important. Some of the calls against the wings were a joke. Quincy call was a joke, smith call was a joke. Meanwhile habs clearly interfered with kronner which led directly to a goal and interfered later with Tatar but no call, and then that offside miss. To make it worse the habs almost scored right after that and it was a missed offside again! This league needs to have better officiating. Bottom line, babs needs to have the boys ready for Saturday.

This forum is hilarious. A couple days ago babs is coach of the year, today he is an effin moron? Its one game guys and there is 9 to go. This game isn't over either. Simply put, the team does not look like they were prepared for this game. Its not the end of the world wings will regroup and refocus on what they need to do. Instead of bashing how about you support your team! On a side note I agree that Nyquist and the kids do need to play more.

Get franzen off the top line! Switch him and Alfie and I think that'll make that line much better and start playing the kids more! Our 4th line is getting far too many minutes I think in games like this we should virtually roll 3 lines ... I have a feeling we come back...

Very frustrating game to watch... the refs were very one sided which made it hard to watch. They called the wings for BS all game, meanwhile letting BJ's get away with many cross checks, a high stick that drew blood and goalie interference. To top it all off, the nhl video review with a bs call saying Smith pushed the BJ player into the net, very inaccurate and that call costed us the game. In saying that, aside from the kids, the team did not play enough. Smith made a mistake on the pinch, but even Kronner does that sometimes so I am not going to turn on Smith. Would someone please tell me WHY THE EFF KINDL STILL GETS PP TIME OVER SMITH?!?! For those of you complaining about Bert, you need to realize that he still has the flu and I know from experience that it is not easy to do that, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt. Bottom line, our veteran line needs to be better. They had a few chances in the 3rd but overall there was no energy by them, most noticeably Franzen. If I am Babcock, I change things up for Thursday by putting Franzen on a line with Helm and insert Jurco to play with Alfie and Legwand to add some energy. Nyquist- Sheahan- Tatar (I want them to get more ice time because they earn it) Jurco- Legwand- Alfredsson Franzen- Helm- Bertuzzi Glendening- Anderson- Miller I do not think the Wings need to panic, they are still in a good position and play very well against Montreal... I suspect that the Wings will be ready to go Thursday. One thing is for sure and I really hope Babs listens. In tonights game, Ken and mick said with Jurco back, I do NOT want Babs to put him on the kid line because the new kid line is even better. Hopefully just a couple more games til the Magic Man is back.

Prob won't happen because it is back to back and the Wings would prob opt to not play him until Sunday at home against Tampa bay

They have played 2 more games then us... We plaay them 2 more times, so if we win both games, catching them is still not out of the question.

I don't think u can just ice a team that is over the cap in the playoffs or else teams would actually do that.

Well one thing that hurt us before Jan. Was jimmy giving up too many easy goals costing us to blow leads. Since around Jan 1st, jimmy has been much more consistent and is thus able to help the team hold onto leads more, such as Saturday against the wild and Tuesday last week against the leafs.

To think Alfie hit the post yesterday or else we were up 3-0... funny how something like that almost always ends up coming back to bite you. I even thought after the post that boy that is usually not a good sign. Another thing I thought of is, going back the past few season, almost every time the Wings play on NBC the game goes into OT or shootout.

That would be a big mistake to have him play his first game back against them. In my opinion Pav will likely skate tomorrow or Wednesday and they will evaluate where he is at. Depending on how that goes he will want to get in a few practices with the team before playing. Depending on how the team does against Columbus and Montreal this week, I think that will have an impact on how soon Pav plays, whether it be by next Sat or Sunday. Either way, the way Boston plays, even if Pav is back before that I think the Wings should sit him out against the Bruins to avoid a guy like Marchand taking a dirty run at him. Either way, he will likely be back within a week or so I think.

The way Smitty is playing Babs needs to recognize that and reward him with PP time over Kindl.. Kindl is just awful. As soon as I saw Kindl was on the ice in the OT tonight, I said to myself Oh jeez here comes a long 30-40 seconds of him on the ice and sure enough we get scored on cuz he is just standing there not watching his man.
