Dave Strader (who many of us remember well) is covering the series for NBCSports. He reports that after the morning skate today the Preds were using the ping pong tables outside the dressing rooms to relax. Big Bert stepped out, told them that if they wanted to play ping-pong, they'd have to bring their own table; then he folded the table up and wheeled it into the Wings room. I cant stand to watch Todd Bertuzzi play one more shift. What a complete waste of cap money. Cant score, terrible passes, constant give aways, refuses to throw anything that even remotely resembles a hit, and consistently taking stupid penalties, most of them in the offensive zone to make up for his disgusting play . Bringing him back has to be one of the worst moves the Wings have made since trading Adam Oates for Bernie Federko. Judas Priest, Id take Robert Lang over this piece of garbage, at least Langer could score an occasional goal.

Ive been there a few times; its right in the heart of NYC, and its a pretty cool store-- but I certainly wouldnt make a special trip there JUST to see the store; I usually stop in when Im in NYC. Its definitely a great spot to get a jersey, hat , or t-shirt as they have them for every team. I remember though that the t-shirts especially were very expensive; they had a cool vintage Minnesota North Stars t-shirt and I was going to but it until I saw that it was around $50.

The Conn Smythe doesnt have to go to a player on the team that wins the Stanley Cup. Pronger could just as easily win it even if the Flyers lose. That makes this post ignorant and unnecessary.

Ive got a great story about a Wings tattoo. During the late spring of 1996 I was at Cedar Point and I saw some tool with a huge stanley cup tattoo on the back of his leg and it said "Detroit Red Wings 1996 Stanley Cup Champions" with the logo in the middle of the cup. I asked him about it and he said that there was no way we werent winning the cup that year (the 62 win season), and he wanted to have the tattoo before anyone else. LOL

I dont play on any team; I do however have a job, and I get paid to do my job. If I sucked at my job, I would get suspended or fired. Im also a season ticket holder, which means that I help pay Todd Bertuzzi's salary. Sure, its a miniscule amount--- but its still my money. And for the $6000 I pay the Detroit Red Wings every season, my opinion is that he sucks and he needs to go. Last time I checked you didnt need to be in the NHL to voice your opinion on a fan message board, jackass.

Some of you are confused as to the reason for this post. Im not saying that Bertuzzi is the ONLY bad player; Im not saying that Bertuzzi is the ONLY reason we are losing. Im not saying that I just now realized he sucks after 24 games. The only point of this post is to say exactly what the title says. Bertuzzi sucks. He flat out fricking sucks. Thats it.

HaHa totally agree. I have no clue how Lebda is even in the NHL. Its not even possible to post anymore about how bad he sucks. Its like making fun of the retarded kid in your elementary school class.

Ive noticed this year that both the FSD and the radio announcers are referring to Cleary as "Danny" cleary as opposed to "Dan" of years past. Also, the graphics on TV all say "Danny" now as well. But, at the Joe Louis, the graphics and PA Announcements are all as "Dan". I know its minor, but im just wondering---- has Cleary asked to be called Danny? Whats with the change?

Daniel Shank, Marc Habscheid, and my all time favorite........Alan Bester. Bester played 2 and half games in a Wings jersey. I have a Wings jersey with Bester on the back, say hi if you see me in section 209!

Sure we all know that something just isnt clicking this year---- but has anyone really looked at our record and realized that we have LOST to just about every "Cup contending" team this year? Even the games we have WON against decent teams, they area all 1 goal games. We have LOST to Anaheim, San Jose, Pittsburgh, and Montreal. We beat NYR by a slim margin. The Wings cant expect to win the Cup again if they cant compete with the high level teams. I know the season is only 1/4 old, but its starting to be a trend and not a fluke.

Hey now, Im not saying that I am worried. Im still confident that they will turn things around, its so early in the season yet. Of course I expect them to have back to back Cup wins.....and everyone else should too. They have the most talented team in the NHL. I wonder what Babs would say or how the Wings dressing room would react if you told them not to expect back to back cup wins, because its extremely tough?!

That may be true, but unfortunately, has NOTHING to do with the Wings record. The long time fans like myself know when they see the Wings playing great and when they dont seem so great. Ive been a season ticket holder for 3 years, and Ive been going down to the Joe to watch the Wings regularly since 1986. Im not saying that they are terrible or that its all over ....just pointing out the obvious fact.

I cant handle it anymore. Please, for the love of God, dont make me watch one more shift with Lebda on the ice. I almost hope with malice intent that he gets open iced in Vancouver and cant play the rest of the season. Bench him, trade him, send him to GR, put him on waivers...something. Please no more. His +/- is terrible, his shot sucks, his mind for the game is horrible, and worst of all, the TURNOVERS. Oh my God if Ive got to stop typing or my head will explode. Please, someone, do something. He leaves guys wide open, he refuses to hit, he tries to join the rush and either goes offsides or ends up out of position. I have a hard time believing he would even be a force in Grand Rapids.

Having your number retired is an honor that is earned by much more than just pure statistics, especially with a historic franchise like the Wings. The current numbers that hang from our rafters werent just great players who posted great stats, they were excellent representatives of the Wings, invovled in the community, recognized league- wide, and in many cases, stayed actively involoved with the club until they werent physically able to any more. The mere fact that someone was an "awesome" player or posted incredible stats is only the first piece, not the final say. Fedorov should never have his number retired. His stats were great, but his play was selfish and oftentimes lazy. He had to be talked into playing in the '97 finals by fellow Russian teamates because his shoulder was "sore". He played for himself and not for the team, and since his departure has had zero involvement with the Wings. His jersey will never be retired and rightfully so. Someone like Chris Osgood or Nick Lidstrom is an exmaple of someone who should be considered. HOF numbers, loyalty to the winged wheel, loved by fans and teamates alike, and respected by the entire league. Like some previous people have stated, no one goes to the Joe and has to defend or debate whether or not Delvecchio or Sawchuk should be up there; most people would have to argue their case for Fedorov......isnt that the entire reason of this thread? Fedorov is a joke, Im a season ticket holder and I enjoy booing him every time he is back in our building.
