It's 1:20am and I have to be up really early tomorrow, but I have no desire to go to bed right now. I'm still jacked-up, re-watching the celebration and reading all of these articles. I think I might just keep the party going and say screw going to work tomorrow...The Wings Are The Stanley Cup Champions!

Well it's definitely not over, but if the Pens do comeback it will be like the pain Red Sox felt in 86. You don't get over it until you win another cup.

"The only thing I am worried about...is getting a boner" sorry I couldn't resist. That is a Michael Scott quote, from the Office. But honestly, I guess I am the only one, but yeah I am nervous. I'm not saying the sky is falling, or it's all over, but I definitely feel anxious. I mean anytime you have oyur foot on your opponent's neck and then take it off, anything can happen. Even though I am convinced Detroit is the better team, a couple lucky bounces here and there and anything can happen. If the Pens somehow manage to win game 6, anything can happen in game 7. So while I am still confident in the Wings abilities, I don't think this series is as over as some of my fellow Wings (and I guess some Penguins) fans think it is.

I thought he played really well. I think the Wings helped him out a lot with those long shots, so I don't think the shot total is indicative of how many "tough" saves he had to make. But that being said, he made a few great saves that kept them in the game. I give the guy credit for winning that game for them.

I think Babcock did the right thing by not complaining about the calls. They didn't lead to the team losing, everyone knows they were BS, no need for him to carry on about it. If he complains about that it makes it seem like he is blaming the refs for the loss, and the ones he should be blaming are in his locker room.

Hmmm, I'm surprised to see the Franzen and Osgood hate threads and not a Kronwall one. I thought for sure if the Wings lost by 1 that I would see one of those.

Underrated in my book is still Kris Draper. He does everything well. He may not be a superstar, but he gives 100% on every shift, and plays good 2 way hockey. I think the wings fan appreciate him, but I think on a whole, he is underrated from the NHL's standpoint. Just a side note, I would have said Osgood here, but I think he is getting enough recognition now that he isn't really underrated anymore.

Just to add to what I originally said, I didn't mean to downplay McCarty's role on the bench this season. But watching the DVD again, I had forgotten how timely some of Kocur's goals were. And just as a side note, how great would it be to see a line of Maltby, McCarty and Draper tonight. I know Babcock did it in the regular season, but I think it would get a huge ovation tonight.

I was Re-Watching my Hockeytown Video From 1997 and I noticed an interesting similarity. They were talking about Joey Kocur and how he was playing in an over 30 league at Christmas time, but then joined the Wings and provided an emotional spark with his physical play. It seemed a bit similar to Darren McCarty not being in the league at the beginning of the season, but worked really hard to make his way into the league. He might not have the impact that Kocur had back in 97, but it's not too often that a player who isn't even in the league in December makes his way onto a team that is 1 way away from winning the Stanley Cup.

I mean give me a break. There are a million things wrong with that argument, but there is no point in even beginning to point them out, because they are going to continue making-up BS like that anyway.

I just wanted to say that I absolutely hate when NBC takes that angle from the blueline looking into the zone on powerplays. Personally I have a hard time being able to see what is happening down low, and the only way I can tell if someone scores is by people's reactions because I can't even see the puck go in the net. Not that big of a deal, but it's annoyed me for a couple of games now.

Yeha, it's been done too much. But that being said, those fans were absolutely jacked for this game. They were so loud, I haven't been to any playoff games, but just from my TV it sounds like the Mellon was ten times louder than the Joe.

Very true. Just imagine what the series would be like if the Wings got Hossa though...LOL. But you're right, everyone is quick to jump on Holland for not trading the Wings young stars or draft picks away for rent-a-players, like they used to be able to do. But so far...so far...it looks like everything is working out. I just hope I didn't jinx the team.
