Nothing to add that hasn't been said. Lids and Homer's future I think are intertwined. If Lids leave Homer is retiring as well I believe.

I think as a whole the league has gotten more officiated. I remember when I first started following a penalty with a one goal lead in the last 2-3 minutes of play was unheard of. Now it seems when there's a one goal lead in the playoffs powerplays are abound.

I think with the way you've got some of the media calling it as the black and white that it is there will be some changes. Pierre McGuire was on NHL Home Ice this morning. He said he was embarrassed by the number of calls against the Wings as well as the phantom calls. He said the Wings have just had some bad luck and bad calls but are no where near out of the series. I agree.

Series is far from over. I actually welcome the Sharks fans who think otherwise. Series heads back to San Jose 2-2 bank on it.

To borrow a baseball euphemism "SWING andddddddd a miss"

Let us not also forget that Detroit went into the 3rd period with a lead despite a penalty ratio of 14-6 in terms of PIM. That being said if the calls are going to be that crappy all night you have to bring your A game. We all can see how completely useless the officiating crew was but that still doesn't mean the guys can take the day off.

The day Bill McCreary decides to hang them up. I'm so tired of him calling and subsequently screwing up Red Wings games. Anyone willing to do research to find the Wings record in games he officiates?

I have to echo above. I'd just like to see the Wings have room to make some moves if necessary. I would certainly like to see a few players hang up their skates and take a few front office roles. I think we've got to continue to develop Dats and Z into two strong independent leaders so they can control their own lines without Babs occasionally having to put them back on the same line together. The biggest thing for me is I think we need some more grinders. Guys who have the offensive touch, but are willing to go out and lay it out on the line for the sake of bringing home the Cup. A couple of younger Dallas Drakes if you will.

Like I said they all make mistakes, but McCreary is horribly inconsistent. Even when it's not a Wings game it's like he's on a roller coaster for the whole game. One minute this is a textbook penalty the next minute a player from the other team does the exact same thing with no call.

He's just to inconsistent for me. He'll let stuff fly and then decide to call a tight game out of the middle of nowhere. He also seems to throw in a few extra power plays for the Wings at the end when he's given them too many penalties.

Not just a clap. Jimmy's actions were worthy of a slow clap.

I've spent about an hour now trying to find the thread from Game 5 of the finals last year with the sound bit of the crowd at the Joe with don't stop believing etc and can't find it. Can anyone provide a link to that. It's been a long year and I haven't been on as much as I want because of some family stuff but i'm glad to be back on here with everyone.

Guy and Gals we all know there are great reasons to win this Cup. Win this one for the fans and things like that go without needing to be stated, but I just wanted to take a thread to give out some positive vibes so here we go. Feel free to add yours to this list. Win this one for Gordie Howe. (The man is a rock and has been through hell this year) Win this one for Detroit. (No city in America needs more of a reason to celebrate right now than Detroit) Win this one for the unemployed fans. (Win it for the fans who have found a way to use up saved money or have scraped by so that they could buy tickets to a Wings playoff game) Win this one for the guys leaving. (Some of them this may be their last time to win the Cup. Send them out the right way) Win this one for the people that said you couldn't (The Salary Cap era was to be the end of the repeat champions. Prove the league wrong)
