    I could never ever put into words how excited I am for this game for one big reason.
    I'LL BE THERE!
    yup first ever red wings game I'm going to be attending (hell my first ever NHL game was last friday lol). After religiously following them and watching just about every game that I could for the past 10 years and being a fan since I was 6 it's finally time.

    I would have loved for the team to recall maltby instead of Janik for the game tonight, and right after the game hold the presser to announce the retirement. Give the guy onw last game and a proper farewell.
    It's kinda weird that only Draper, Holmstrom and Lidstrom remain as the wings that have been here since the 97 cup.

    From a defensive standpoint, I think it needs to be done. Howard was solid in the regular season, but I think his inexperience going for the Cup has gotten to him. He over-commits on first moves and leaves the opposition a wide open net. Osgood is, like you said, a proven winner, and was clutch during our last two runs to the Cup Finals. I think now is the time to let Ozzie play; he was put into the thick of the action in 2008 when we needed him, and lo, and behold, we won the Stanley Cup.
    The defense as a whole must improve, but we need a stronger man between the pipes.
