man. you guys are acting like calling a few extra penalties can make up for taking away a goal. are you serious? giving more chances does not equal taking away success. it's that simple to me. Horrible call that cannot be made-up for, unless he can call a goal when it doesn't go in. It should be reviewable. Plain and simple. The refs took some gas out of our collective tank. The wings still played hard only to have ANOTHER goal taken away. It's upsetting for a fan. Imagine how our Wings feel? Game five ends this.

I'll say from the bits i watched of the game. The interference call they made on holms that dis-allowed the goal played a pretty big factor as far as momentum. I didn't know there was ANOTHER goal called off. Sure, Dallas played 400x better than they did in games 1-3. BUT Detroit had the rewards for their efforts taken away (two goals taken away due to refereeing?) I agree, it's cliche to blame losses on the refs. But Two goals? Doesn't that make it 3-3 at the end of the game if all went as it did? And I bet if those goals counted - It was a whole different game 4. Oh Well, On to game five.

After watching the "no-goal" they called because Holmstrom was "in the crease" I hope that ref goes home - looks at the tape and comes to game 5 and gives us a "make-up call" *#@$ that! As a ref - if you mess up - you deal with it. You DON'T give the other team a break a few games later. The goal that Holms tipped in with his knee. Yea, it could have gone either way IMHO, but they called it a goal. Enough Dallas fans whined so now we get a perfectly legal goal taken away. Doesn't make sense. Wings in 5. Dallas is winless in detroit.

Oh man. To the guys who have to explain hockey to their women. Dump them. I'm engaged to a hardcore Wings fan who texted me every big hit/play/goal/etc of the game tonight. Even had a neighbor come down and ask her to turn the TV down. i love my woman. Glow puck would be a good idea for "casual" fans. But. You either understand hockey and want to take time to figure out all the quirks and plays and wouldn't need the glow puck or you're the "casual" channel flipper who will watch 30 seconds and change the channel because no one "scored" It's just like this whole "no fighting" rule that seems to be set in place. forget that. I went to alot of Fort Wayne Komets games last winter. My fiance and I looked at each othe and thought the same thing, "We went to a fight and a hockey game broke out!" i miss THAT about hockey. I miss the fact the Ribiero would be seeing stars if this was 1998 and not 2008. In my opinion, so many bad decisions being made for the NHL. Hockey isn't a sport like basketball where if you look at someone wrong you get a foul/penalty. Hockey is the sport where you settle your differences like men. FIGHT. bring back the fights. bring back the feeling that you can't injure someone without having to keep your head up for the next 82 games. bring THAT back. not the glow puck. People watch nascar for the wrecks for the most part. What would make watching hockey for the fights any different for "new" fans?

hmm. blood clot in the head? concussion. either way. i'd hate to see the Mule at 100%. He might just play 60min and score six goals a game. i love hockey players. they remind me of the black knight from monty python. swear to GOD you could cut off a players arm and he'd tell coach he's okay for next game.

I recently moved to Findlay, OH. When i found out the dealer that may have had something to do with Vladdy's accident I asked some friends about the dealership. I guess the owners (Family owned for like the last ump-teen years) are pricks and rich pompous people. I might go throw an octopus on their lot.

because hasek is the type of goalie to take offense to that. Chris Osgood is not. Start Osgood, he melts down. Hasek will be crap between the pipes due to not being started first. At least thats the popular opinion around where i'm from.

i think he got signed for a 1-year entry level contract. Finnish player i believe 77pnts in 55 games in the finnish elite league i think.

it all boils down to the NHL trying to clean up the sport. They want less fights and less violence it seems. heck. they don't even let people fight anymore if there are two linesman around. they separate the two immediately. oh well. Detroit's physical game comes from #55. He's the guy who will catch you with your head down and make you pay. Though Drake had a good hit last night too.

love it. listening to the NHL Network "on the fly: final" saying osgood intentionally hit ribiero. and ribiero was justified in his actions. then they go on to commend turco for his antics in goal "whacking and slashing ... hitting players in the back of the head" every station is opposed to the red wings. everything we do sucks and is wrong. I heard that the Stars just didn't show up. I was forced to checking updates of the game on my phone. I heard the Stars had a bunch of badly called penalties. Then I watched some highlights. The Wings shot Turco's eyes out. Kron laid some people out. Osgood made people cry on odd-man and breakaway chances. But you know. The Wings are just getting so lucky that everyone sucks more than then on any given occasion.

I commonly read Fox Sports News and stuff on my cell phone. Recently i came across this headline: "Against Penguins, refs, Flyers can win it" Calling out Crosby as a diver. But what is the NHL going to do when the red wings hoist the cup and poor sid the dive crosby has to sit on the bench? what is crosby and company going to do against a solid D line-up and great two-way forwards?

my favorite is how Threeorfour got the start in all the Colorado games. NO mention of the flu in game 3-4. yet he still allowed 3-4 goals The Red Wings will forever be viewed as a rich team that buys their players every year blah blah blah blah. I remember hearing this pre-lockout. Forget it. Every team has a cap. It's up to the owners and management and coaches to make the best out of the salary. i saw that commercial here in Ohio in round one. so i don't think this commercial will have anything to do with the fate of the red wings.

done. plus. i think lidstrom's style of play clearly shows he'll be around for awhile. he averages more ice time than everyone on the team and he makes plays without having to exert alot of physical force. however on the flip side - i could see alot of the wings older players calling it quits if we win the cup this year. i would hate to see it happen, but you never know.

not a chance. lindstrom plays such a smart game of hockey. i don't see him getting involved physically like kronwall does. lindstrom is hopefully going to be in detroit for a few more years. the detroit red wings are a team with pride. I don't see them throwing away their captain and team-mate and #1 defensive player (year after year mind you) for some hot-shot goal scorer. Our offensive production is great. Sasha and Pasha? Franzen being the next Thomas Holmstrom? Forget it. Wings don't need to and will not trade their already tested and proven two-way players for this young-gun. Ovechkin is fun to watch i'll give you that. but wasn't dats the best +/- player in the NHL this year? and Lindstrom close behind or even ahead?
