http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=35&id=65137&intcmpid=nhl-vidmod-hp Some nice saves, although they were a bit too quick to put together this list. Miller from yesterday would have made my list:
-
Detroit Zetterberg Franzen Lidstrom Columbus Nash
-
I have a feeling it will depend on what matchup Babcock wants in the 1st round and if he thinks we have to win against Chicago or not.
-
Parise Sedins Backstrom Mikku Koivu

As far as non-Wings players go, he's always been one of my favorites. Great guy, great player, hot wife. It's probably the right time to retire for him but I'll be sad to see him go.
-
Hedman has quietly been having a solid season for a 19-year old d-man in his first year in the league. Stamkos has had a fantastic year. They can build around those two for a long time. I feel like they need some big changes though. Probably a new coach, better defense, a real starting goaltender etc.
-
Well imagine playing perfectly for almost 20 years and suddenly you make a mistake. Gotta be hard to take, he almost had a flawless career but now it's ruined.
-
...who? ..seriously I've been watching every game this season and I can't remember seeing any "Williams" guy..
-
Don't really have any opinion on him other than the fact that me and my friends would always make fun of his name while playing NHL games.
-
What makes you think we will even play them in the 1st round? They'll be 1st after tonight and we'll be in 7th. If we lose tonight, most likely we will play San Jose.
-
That looked too easy.
-
I was thinking about making a proper Lidstrom appreciation thread before the playoffs.. Hope everyone realizes what a legend he is. The Golden Era of the Wings is the career of Lidstrom. We won't be as good when he is gone, all we can hope for is that we don't fall into complete mediocrity without him.
-
They're getting moved to Kansas City, Bettman's orders.
-
Detroit Zetterberg Franzen Datsyuk Columbus Nash

Chicago is pretty likely to end up 1st though, so 7th and a 1st round matchup against San Jose wouldn't be too bad imo. But of course I want the Wings to win their remaining games anyway.

I'm sure it was Linus Omark, as he just signed with the Oilers a couple of days ago. Yes, he is also a fun player to watch. He did the flip over the goalie before Pavel, although it was in an exhibition game against Switzerland so imo Pav's was way more impressive. Omark can come up with some great moves and I look forward to seeing him in the NHL, but his "dangle dangle" skills (or any of his other skills) are not on the level of Pavel's, not even close.
-
I just hope Pav plays as long as Igor did. I want him on the Wings for another 10 years.
-
Did anyone mention that if the Wings make the playoffs next year they will tie the longest playoff-streak in franchise history?
-
Wooo! Lidstrom = playoffs. We won't miss it as long as he plays. This has been a crazy season. So many ups and downs, so many close games, so many OT/SO losses, so much nervousness for every game.. even though we're still battling for position I will be pretty calm for these last couple of games. Vancouver, San Jose, Chicago, Phoenix.. they're all pretty equal in my book. I look forward to the playoffs, it's going to be very fun. This team could go all the way if everything clicks for them. If Franzen and Zetterberg turn it on like they have the last two playoff runs. If Datsyuk keeps playing like he's doing and Homer stays healthy. If streaky Bert gets hot and Filppula starts shooting the puck. If Williams is benched in favor of Abdelkader. If Howard isn't worn out or buckles under the pressure. A lot of if's, and realistically I see a 1st or 2nd round exit for this team. That wouldn't make me terribly sad, atleast not if they go down fighting, because honestly: 3 SCFs in a row? That would be something. Regardless, I'm proud as hell of what this team has done this year. A rebuilding year that still has us making the playoffs with good chances of making some noise? 29 other franchises wish they had it that good.

Argh. Tough loss, but not exactly devestating. We're still 2 points away from Nashville with a game in hand. Ozzie had a good 3rd period. That's something atleast. It almost felt like a given that we would have a tough time winning in his first game back in the net, but atleast now he has this game to build upon. Datsyuk was fantastic this game, Eaves and Helm and Cleary were also great. Haven't seen Cleary skate that well in a while. Everyone else was pretty much meh. Just forget about it and look forward.

Not getting any quality chances. Frustrating.
-
I hate when they take out both guys when there's clearly one guy giving and one receiving.

Pav I love thee.
