Yeah I don't expect many people to agree with me, but I feel he's crazy underrated due to not playing in Spain, England or Italy. If he was on United, Barca or another big team he'd be huge. Anyway, that's that about soccer. Go Red Wings! Looking decent enough so far.

If the Wings could keep their streak going it would be great. I'm not going to be too upset about a loss though. Feels nice that we've moved out of the "must-win" territory for a bit here. That said I think the Wings will get it done. They've lost against bottom teams one too many times this year. 6-1 Wings. Ha, I was super happy to see United lose. I'm tired of people acting like the Premier League is the only league that matters, and United are always, always, always winning games on stoppage time so it was time they got some of their own medicine. Not really a Bayern fan either though. Only a fan of Ribery, imo the second best player in the world (behind Messi).

Out of the teams that are in the playoffs right now, the only goalies I would rather have than Howard are Miller or Bryzgalov. We'll see how Howie handles the playoffs, but a lot of teams have question marks in net. The thing about the playoffs though are that any goalie can get hot and take their team to the SCF. Look at Osgood last year. Who knew he would be that good in the playoffs after that regular season?

Greatly enjoyed the post, looking forward to part 2. I feel myself turning into a Washington hater myself. I liked them when they started becoming good, and when they picked up Fedorov I was really happy. But since he has left I'm slowly starting to realize I don't really like many of the players or the way they play as a team. Like you say, they seem arrogant. "No backcheck required, we'll just score another couple of goals." Green, Ovie, Semin.. these are fun players to watch but I just can not root for them. They feel like the complete opposite of Yzerman, Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Fedorov, Lidstrom.. you know, basically all my favorite players. I do however hope they beat the Pens in the playoffs and that we face them in finals. I would love to see Datsyuk take Ovie out of that series the way he took him out of the games we played against them earlier this season.

I hope it's not serious, that could make San Jose a real contender this year.

Like it or not Caps/Pens is the biggest rivalry in the league right now, it has the two biggest stars and the games are always fun. You can't blame them for going with it from a marketing standpoint. Sure you can say the Rangers or Devils should get the chance.. but both are pretty boring teams. It's not the best way to show off the NHL. If every teams should get one go before anyone gets their 2nd, soon we'll have Nashville vs. Phoenix and matchups like that.

He made some really big saves tonight at the end of the 3rd with the game on the line. All signs point to Howie being able to handle pressure just fine. Playoffs is a different beast though, but if the team plays good I think Howard will be able to give us the goaltending we need.
