If Hudler can't get re- signed then Holland will go out and get somebody (who it would be, I have no idea). On the other hand if Hudler comes back next season then Kenny will probably just let all the kids from G.R. fight it out and battle for roster spots in training camp.
-
If Yzerman went to Chicago to be their GM I would lose my mind. But he won't so we can all stop worrying.
-
Very good deal by Holland. I was expecting Leino to get more but I am definitely happy with $800,000. Great job Kenny- keep up the good work.
-
Neither do I. I wonder who will pick him up?
-
The post is a fake. No way would Ozzie be posting on a message board, (or reading it for that matter). He's rich and famous he's got WAY better things to do.
-
Forwards would probably be Ritola/ Emmerton (Helm or Abdelkader if they get sent down). Defense would be Kindl or Kolosov. Goalie would be Larsson for sure. Maybe Oulahen or McGrath if they get re- signed.
-
Sundin wouldn't sign cheep anyway, so I'm going to pass on him.

Detroit has always had a balanced style of play. Echolalia's right, you're overanalyzing. The Wings will be fine especially if Osgood has a better year than last season and Howard doesn't puke. A good defense is the best offense (something like that.)
-
Bye- Bye Hudler.
-
The Wings will be a well above average team next year, but they won't go about breaking records and stuff like last year. They'll probably be a 1st or 2nd seed in the playoffs.
-
No way is Bertuzzi coming back to Detroit. Ever.
-
Holland has already said that Abby will go back to Grand Rapids next year, so somebody else is going to need to fill his spot on the 3rd line.
-
Who's gonna be the new whipping boy? Howard maybe? Seriously though, I will miss Sammy. Good luck in Vancouver.
-
You're right, if he wants that much money than he can go on and forget Detroit.
-
Would people let it go already! Sure we can all call Hossa a traitor and be a**holes about it but it won't change the fact that it's done. Over. Finished. Ca-put. Remember, Hossa was technically a traitor to come to Detroit last year anyway. So just forget about. For the next 12 years. I'm not saying I like the fact that he went to Chicago, but it's not the end of the world. Chicago's defense sucks anyway.

I'm not sure about many guys getting an invite to training camp this year for the Wings. Camp is going to be short because they start the season out in Sweden so I don't know if Holland will be offering many invitations this year.

Hudler, Leino, Oulahen, and McGrath were all tendered qualifying offers by Detroit. Here's the full list. I hope that Kenny can re- up Hudler and Leino for sure because with the loss of Hossa, Detroit is going to need Hudler (or a player like him) to find the net, even though nobody the Wings get there hands on could completely make up for what Hossa would have brought to the table, Hopefully somebody like Hudler and Leino could ease the pain of that loss. As far as Oulahen and McGrath here are their stats from Grand Rapids last season. I'll let you guys decide if they should stay around. (Keep in mind both Oulahen and McGrath will need to pass through waivers in order to be sent to G.R.). Oulahen McGrath

Detroit only signed Haydar for one season. I wouldn't expect him to be re- signed.
-
:rotflmao: Actually after I got done laughing at that I thought about it for a few minutes. Does somebody need to be around for it to really be considered a noise?

Kenny should save our cap space until the trade deadline
Scotty replied to hckypete96's topic in General
We still need to sign Hudler and a couple more forwards (i.e. Leino, Samuelsson, etc.) so it might not be possible to save a whole lot of cap space. -
Hossa would have definitely not stayed if we won the Cup. He would have accomplished what he came her for, then he could go for the money.

Sorry I just noticed this has already been posted. My bad.
