Well, this day is going great! I know Holland wasn't going to make an offer to Conklin, but it still bugs me that we've lost three (two really because Kopecky doesn't count) to teams in our own division, Chicago was as dangerous as hell without Hossa and Conklin alone doesn't make the Blues a playoff contender- but he does make them a better team for sure.

You're right, I'm a little concerned about what Bowman's got up his sleeve. Detroit better watch out.

Blackhawks can have there playoff choker, now Ken Holland can go and try and re- sign Hudler and Samuelsson. Still don't know how Chicago is going to be able to re- sign Toews and Havlat though.

McCollum will most likely serve as Larsson's backup next season, with Jordan Pearce will most likely play for Toledo or an IHL team.

To start, Kenny Holland should trade Hossa's right to Los Angeles for a 3rd Round Draft pick. Hossa is not going to be able to be re- signed. I'm sorry but nothing can be gained by further optimism. He's done as a Red Wing and it was fun to watch him play. Then he should re- sign Hudler, Leino, Samuelsson, and Downey to salaries similar to last season (if possible). That's it! It's simple, if he does all of that he'll have a team similar to last year- minus Hossa, but remember; Leino played great and chipped in offensively with 5 goals and 9 assists in only 13 regular season games. So just imagine what kind of production they could get out of him in 70+ games. Think about it. I know it's not the same 40 goals from Hossa but Detroit can get away with that because of their defense. I know most of you want Helm, Abdelkader, and Ericsson all in Detroit next year, but face it... as much as I do too... Holland and Co. would much rather have those guys playing 10- 15 minutes a night in Grand Rapids instead of 5 to 7 minutes (or even being a scratch) in Detroit. Thoughts guys?

I remember Neil from the days when Grand Rapids played in the old IHL, and the only thing that tool bag was good for was a cheap hit and two chicken s--- fights a game. That hit and brawl between Buffalo and Ottawa a few year back proves my point. If Detroit wants a tough guy than they should re- sign Downey.

Yeah, I tried to give Hudler more money (I used CapGeek.com to figure it out, but it didn't work without getting to close to the cap, because we still needed cap space for two more forwards.

As a matter of fact... I would love to have Matt Ellis come back to Detroit and play on the fourth line. I was kind of disappointed when he went to L.A because he was a solid fourth- line, two- way player who could chip in and score from time to time. I'm all for Ellis coming back to Detroit.

I'm glad Ryno is coming back to North America. I was kind of disappointed when he went back to Sweden because that year after seeing him play a couple of games he looked like one of the better players the Griffins had.

Kenny Holland and Company won't be moving anybody to go up in the draft. Detroit has got plenty of depth right now anyway. Besides the best player that they'll probably draft will be in the 7th round.

6 million is definitely a "reasonable" amount for a player like Hossa, but if he want's to stay in Detroit and win, he's going to have to take somewhere around 5 million.

I was wondering what you guys think about next years goalie situation in Detroit. Keep in mind that Howard can't go to Grand Rapids without clearing waivers next season. Obviously the kind of Free Agent Detroit could afford is going to depend on if they re-sign certain players up front (Hossa, etc.)

Congratulations to the Pens. You guys flat out outplayed us when it counted. I really hope you guys enjoy the Cup because if anyone on the Wings team is as pissed off as I am they are going to come out on a mission next year. Again Congrats.
