If they'd take Nyquist or Tatar in a deal for Duclair, I'm in.

I would take a pass of Letang, it'll cost a fortune to acquire him.  Well, at least more than I would like to give up.

We have enough projects on this team without adding another. Letang injury history and price tag really doesn't make sense for our team.

  2. Real cool idea over all CRL, but i don't know if he could or couldn't pick up on our league right away. Say make him a assistant first then evaluate him when he has had a few years in. I would love to see feds brought on in some form in the future though.

Got nothing against Galchenyuk, but if we're looking to trade Nyquist (or another forward), it should be for defense, not for a different Nyquist.

Not to say we couldn't trade for him and also trade someone else for defense. Nyquist + Tatar + Green for Glachenyuk and Weber ($2M retained)

Then we could have that intimidating presence on our blue line....HULK SMASH!

Word on the block is Montreal is already shopping Mark Streit. Perhaps we could unload Ericsson and AA for Chucky and Streit?

Ericsson is pretty meh but is much younger than Streit who is 39

Who would we whip? If they could make it happen sure, but seriously i would have nobody to yell at and grumble about. No more " Why does dad always yell at the t.v when #52 comes on the ice?" questions.

    Helene's thoughts:

Wherever Athanasiou, 23, ends up playing, if he ends up playing, the best place for him to develop is the NHL. He is not going to get better defensively playing in Switzerland. Meanwhile he is losing money off the offers the Wings have made him (two years, $3.8 million/one year at $1.25 million; he’d be an RFA with arbitration rights after either) because once the regular season began, paychecks kicked in. So now if he does accept, the money will be pro-rated. The Wings aren’t going to trade him for anything less than a high draft pick or blue-chip prospect. The Wings’ offer is in line with a player coming off his entry-level contract. They are not going to budge even if they lose the next 10 games.

Really hope a team wants him and pays out for his services. I can't see this working out well for the team if he returns.

I love how even when we lose 1-0 some people still blame Jimmy. OK the goal he let in might have been bad, but do you think mrazek would have gotten a shutout? so far Jimmy's numbers are far and away better than Petr. also if you have to rely on a shutout to have a chance at ot you don't deserve to win anyways

I agree with krieger...except for having a virtual GF ;)
