"I forgot he was a Red Wing!"

[ Colin Campbell for gosh sakes. name='mjlegend' date='February 1, 2009 - 09:09PM' post='1534131] Every now and then when poring over recent rosters, even for the Cup-winning teams, I look at the team and think "Oh yeah, that guy played for the Red Wings." It's either legitimate NHL regulars or guys the Wings have given a second chance. 1997 we had Dmitri Mironov. I'm totally spacing out on him when I think of that team. Just looking today in 1999, we apparently gave Petr Klima and Doug Houda another look. I completely missed that at the time. I could go on... Any others come to mind?

  3. I don't know if this has been discussed yet, but Capitals Niklas Backstrom says he will not attend the Young Guns game despite being invited because he is tired. He even goes on to say he is not hurt. Does the Young Gun game operate by a seperate set of rules? He is "tired" and "not hurt". It sure seems to me from my chair here that there is something unusual happening. I do think, as fans, we should think long term and let Nick and Pav rest one more game (although it will be a very tough tilt against CBJ).

    Need Advice From Wings Fans

You should consider analyzing the Red Wing success as a business organization, not just a sports franchise. They have management continuation and depth, player (employee development) development) and depth, winning organizational culture, leadership (owner and general management) vision. If you need an antithesis to this to prove your point, use the same parameters and apply to the Detroit Lions or any one of the car companies. Good Luck.

Who was/is your all time favourite goalie?

My favorites were Roy Edwards and Roger Crozier.
