I believe that he made a mistake by juggling the lines on a nice streak. Tootoo was playing great and brought good energy to the 4th line and to the team and he did not deserve to sit for Sammy. Staring Jimmy in net was a no brainer.

Chris Pronger was a great defenseman that played the game about as mean as anyone ever has. He took nasty to a whole new level and that's why some fans hated him and he was boo'd in just about every rink in the league. Love him or hate him he did have a HOF career.

This is the million dollar question. All the lines are playing pretty good. Tootoo , Miller, and Glendening have been a good line and have provided energy and have been pretty good defensively as well. I think Eaves will get waived, Sammy will request a trade if he keeps getting scratched, and Glendening will get sent down (because he can). I still think Holland should be shopping Smith and Mule. Edmonton might be a good trade partner right now.

Could we take Yakupov instead of Gagner's teeth? He was a healthy scratch last night.

Bert played a hell of a game and really opened up the ice for Z and Pav. Glendening looks like a minor improvement over Emdog but an improvement none the less. Lashoff>Smith. Tootoo gets a spot just for the death stare. I thought the 2nd line still sucked. Its time Holland put out some feelers to see what Mule would fetch in a trade. Put Mule in the press box next game if he doesn't get the message then trade his ass(no pun intended). Never break up the PavZuzzi line.

I think at this point we may never see the Helm that we all miss and need.

Mike Babcock is a very good coach but he does have some faults. He hands out way too many free passes (roster spots) to players that are not playing well. Cleary should not have been brought back even for free because we have younger and more talanted guys ready to come up. Smith is young and will make a ton of mistakes but he still needs to be reminded that he will sit if he plays like crap from time to time. Babs needs to get tougher on this team and make his players earn their spots.

Blame this on the schedule if you'd like but this team has to be better. The Wings played like crap two nights in a row. Yes they got the win from the Canes but they got out played for 55 minutes. 2 things are certain Smith still sucks and Franzen still floats

Looking like a tired team out there tonight. A few things that are concerning though is the Smith and Quincey pairing. These guys are not improving. Smith is making way too many mistakes and could use some time in the press box or GR. Q should be traded. Off topic but the Jets might be moving Enstrom because Trouba is playing so well. Might be a nice pick up

Agreed. Sammy and Bert had contracts. But bringing Cleary back had to sting them for sure. Tats and Gus would make the 3rd line a scoring threat and maybe one of the better 3rd lines in the league.

The Wings are going to have to bring a solid 60 min effort from all 4 lines to win this game. 4-3 Wings in a nail biter

I could find you at least 6 guys off of last nights roster that played like crap AND are not coming off of a serious back injury. Give him some time. You will be glad that he is on the ice when ****** bags start slapping Pav and Z around.

The problem is that Franzen plays at 100%, 2% of the time. Alfie will start slow and to be honest I am not expecting that much from him. Not impressed with Weiss this far as well. The first 12 games will be interesting.

I give Cleary credit for taking a pay cut to play with the team he loves. However, Holland has/had no room to make this signing. He will give up young talent because of the Sammy and now Cleary signing.

I have to go with Tootoo. He is a nasty sob and is not afraid to take a run at anyone. Babcock needs to use him more effectively next season. Kronwall is great but needs to deliver them them more often.

Kronner is capable of being in a good 1-2 pairing but with him he needs a really good shut down partner. He still needs somebody to bail him out when he gets caught out of position and allows him to jump up into the play or to go after some hits. To me Detroit still needs to find him a partner.

I like this deal and I can be very quick to pick apart Kenny"s deals! This is a prove yourself to us contract and there should be a lot more of these types of deals.

This, I do not buy. The Wings had/have too many defense and too many forwards and a ton of good prospects waiting to play for the big team. Does this not scream big trade? Even Holland said himself before the draft that he was looking for a 3 for 1 or a 3 for 2 type of deal. Holland needs to pull the trigger to make this team better.
