  1. https://www.nhl.com/player/dylan-mcilrath-8475795 McIlrath is a BIG boy Hasn't played since Jan.
  2. Bob McKenzie‏Verified account @TSNBobMcKenzie 2m2 minutes ago More FLA gives up Dylan McIlrath and a third round pick to DET for Thomas Vanek. DET retains 50 per cent of salary.
  3. More inter-division inter-conference deals anymore it seems.
  4. The streak is over, let's all be adults about this. This is ONE case where looking back on a generation (no, a real generation so says science) of titles, records, player awards, famous fights, tragic incidents, retired numbers, along with the losses of Gordie and Mr. I, et al. is worthwhile. Let's celebrate today Besides the winning of the cups, what are your favorite five or most impressionable memories from THE STREAK? (John Belushi from SNL as "The Thing That Wouldn't Leave")
  5. Again from Twitter, a poke at Rags fans Dumb Bozo‏Verified account @davelozo 11m11 minutes ago More When you thought you were getting Kevin Shattenkirk but you end up getting Brendan Smith
  6. Let's find out what Rangers fans think of the deal thus far: guess i'll reserve judgement until i see him play. I do like the mean streak trait though. definitely something we need for the playoffs. 2nd and a third in two different years....meh, deadline deals seemingly rarely are steals for the buyers in recent years. Totally a knee jerk move b/c of Caps getting Shattenkirk giving up a 2nd/3rd round pick. More of a measured response to the fact some of our D-men are bad. Detroit seems to be over the moon about this. Never a good sign. Washington loads up with Shattenkirk. We get... Brendan Smith. Cool not pleased with this deal. hopefully he has some impact didn't really see the need for a LHD tho If we unloaded 2 seconds for this guy I will lose my **** Such an odd trade. People seem to be either over the moon or not liking it.I'm in the "Not so good" camp, but I hope I'm wrong. Won't mind eating crow. I just don't see that value. He shores up our bottom 3 d-men. That's about it
  7. Monitoring the Twitter CapFriendly‏ @CapFriendly 11m11 minutes ago More Detroit is now up to 10 picks in the 2017 NHL draft: 1st 2nd 3rd CHI 3rd NYR 3rd TOR 4th 5th 6th 6th FLA 7th
  8. Just for fun here are all the deals made on trade deadline day in 1990, the last time, well, you know. Trading deadline: March 6, 1990 March 6, 1990: Adrien Plavsic, St. Louis' first round pick in 1990 Entry Draft and second round pick in 1991 Entry Draft traded from St. Louis to Vancouver for Rich Sutter, Harold Snepsts and St. Louis' second round pick in 1990 Entry Draft (acquired previously). March 6, 1990: Mike Gartner traded from Minnesota to NY Rangers for Ulf Dahlen, NY Rangers' fourth round pick in 1990 Entry Draft and future considerations. March 6, 1990: Alain Chevrier traded from Chicago to Pittsburgh for future considerations. March 6, 1990: Jack Capuano traded from NY Islanders to Vancouver for Jeff Rohlicek. March 6, 1990: Jyrki Lumme traded from Montreal to Vancouver for St. Louis' second round pick in 1991 Entry Draft (acquired previously). March 6, 1990: Jim Korn traded from New Jersey to Calgary for Calgary's fifth round pick in 1990 Entry Draft. March 6, 1990: Peter Stastny traded from Quebec to New Jersey for Craig Wolanin and future considerations. March 6, 1990: Jeff Sharples traded from Edmonton to New Jersey for Reijo Ruotsalainen. March 6, 1990: Brian Wilks traded from Edmonton to Pittsburgh for future considerations. March 6, 1990: The rights to Cam Brauer traded from Edmonton to Hartford for Marc Laforge.
  9. I wish this had been done 2-3 years sooner. I'd made mentions as such but I'm not trying to be I told you so on this. I just wish, instead of limping into first round matchups in which they were overmatched (in the first round no less) they'd have let the streak go. The best part of that plan would be going into the new Arena they'd be hopefully well on the upswing not bookending the bad years at the beginning of JLA with one last stinker of a year. Ah well, it is what it is here today and I hope (like the Smith trade) they can do well and bank some young talent to go with a nice group of youngsters to build around. But let's not take 15 years of top picks like Edmonton to get back on top.

  13. Thank you Mr. I. This city and fans will never be able to properly repay your investment in the city, it's teams and it's fans. It goes beyond hockey or baseball. When GM and Chrysler went bankrupt and the world was laughing at Detroit you proudly put all the Big 3 logos out in centerfield to show the world right back, Detroit is ONE, win lose draw or otherwise. He loved his city and did something about that.

  15. Coreau has given me a reason to watch. Probably some of that wisdom I yelled out in Marquette's Lakeview Arena all those years ago echoed around until it somehow found it's way into his head. What? It could happen.
