I wore my Hossa t-shirt on Sunday and debated about it because I didn't want to bring any bad luck to the Wings. It must have done the reverse, since the Blackhawks and Hossa lost.

I'm in too! This will be my first year. Going to go pull out my embroidery thread now and get creative with a red one for tonight's game!!

No, I've always been lucky to get tickets. My nerves are shot to hell waiting for confirmation, but I'm never able to get to TC on the day they go on sale.

Training camp is always so much fun. I've gone the past two years, and will be going again this year. I normally buy my tickets on the fax-in day and still get good seats. As to where to stay, there are tons of hotels all along 31 (which runs along the two bays) and it just depends on your budget. I usually stay at the Best Western, which is a little bit further from Center Ice Arena but nice for the price. Most of the team stays at the Grand Traverse Resort, I believe, so that's an option too. Plus the guys are out golfing most of the weekend there too. Outside the arena, there is an area where you can wait for the players to come out either after practice or after working out. Most of the guys will come out to sign autographs at least once throughout the weekend. I've usually been able to get the whole team's autographs/pictures with the exception of 3-4 players. In addition to training camp, Traverse City is just a beautiful area that offers a lot to do. I'm a nature buff, so I usually hit the trails or go jetskiing on the bays. But there's also Old Mission Point with it's wineries and gorgeous homes, Sleeping Bear Dunes close by, Turtle Creek Casino, or Petoskey (an hour away). It's well worth the trip. Just make sure you stock up on Sharpies and stuff to have signed!

Hopefully, Howie opts for a full beard this year instead of the mustache, if he can . . .

What's do you gals do with the bracelets? Do you make old-school friendship bracelets or something? I've never heard of that, but it's definitely an alternative since I can't grow a beard. I can stop shaving though . . .

Homer. Most likely a deflection from Lidstrom, but maybe he'll surprise us and shoot from just inside the blue line.

I would definitely rather see Williams out than Draper. He has just looked lost out there since the Olympics, makes weak passes, and skates himself into situations where he loses the puck. However, I would not be surprised to see both of them sat for perhaps the first game to bring in Abby and May to refresh those guys with the team style. Draper will only sit though if May's services might be needed.

I bought tickets to home game 2 the day after they went on sale, and I was on pins and needles thinking game 4 might be on a Wednesday and that I'd have to call off in order to go to the game. Instead it's on Tuesday and I can go with no problems. Yeah!!

Was at the game tonight. The first goal was a great way to get the last regular season home game going, but then . . . we were just flat until 8 minutes into the third. OMG, did the place erupt and rock for the whole 1.5 minutes we scored those three goals. I had just barely sat down for the first, when I was up cheering again for the second, and then the third goal. Some bad turnovers and slow changes cost the boys the three goals tonight, but overall, it just looked like they were resting on the ice--saving themselves for the playoffs. Glad they got the win though because a loss would have been a bad way to end the "Fan Appreciation" night for the last home game.

It's driving me crazy every time I hear Ken say Deslauriers because I keep thinking it sounds like he is going to say Delorean.

I laughed so hard out loud when I heard that, and then replayed it to see if I heard that for sure, only to laugh harder the second time. I kept hearing that guy during the period. It seemed that he was a none too happy Wild fan. Happy Birthday, Jimmy! Thanks for keeping it 0-0, while the guys get going again.

The "Red" is because the uniforms for the Falcons were red and white striped, and they decided to keep the same color scheme. It also has its basis in the history of hockey being played originally on ponds, where the red would show up more easily against the snow and ice (white).

Ditto that. I think my neighbors were going to call the cops on me, thinking something terrible was going on in my condo with all my screaming. OMG! What a game. Thank you, God, for answering my prayer and letting the Wings win tonight in regulation. I think I might have to start going to church now . . .

I have every faith in the world that this team could go very far or even all the way in the playoffs. They have that ability to "switch it on" when it really matters. However, I will be holding my breath until the last game of the regular season because I feel the Wings will continue this 7th/8th/9th spot dance with Nashville, Calgary, and St. Louis until then, and we won't know 100% if they will be in until then. Until they break the pattern of two steps forward, one step back, (or vise versa in some cases this season) I can't let myself get too excited.

There is parking at the Joe. It's $15 usually; a little pricey, but it depends on what time you're getting to the game. Hockeytown Cafe's shuttle runs every 10-15 mins before but does take a little longer after because of traffic, and it's sometimes hard to spot which shuttle is theirs because there are ones from the hotels too that pickup in the same area (riverside entrance). I've done both. Although initially it's longer getting back to your car, Hockeytown Cafe usually affords a quicker time getting back to the highway than parking at the Joe because of less traffic, and even more so if you stay for a few beers.
