Easy game, Stanley Cup here we come.
-
He's been pretty good this season. If you are kicking him off for one game you should have kicked Kronwall of the team for yesterday.
-
Better than Datsyuk tonight.
-
They have 26 million in cap space to re-sign people with Bouwmeester. he's worth it.
-
Yes. He's a very good defenseman that can play a ton of minutes. They have cap room to afford his overpaid salary as well.
-
Maybe we could get cammy for 1nd rounder if we make the playoffs, 4th if we miss Mccolluum and Jurco lol is that a joke? Those prospects are nobodies, Calgary got screwed.
-
Well I don't like this at all, he would have fit in well here. Good trade for the blues.
-
... Franzen won't ever get credit for anything he does. It was a good shot by him to draw a rebound. I wish he played better, but at least give him credit for rare occasion he does something positive. I thought Carlo looked decent, made some nice breakout passes. Not much to go off of thoough.

Abby is the new Ryan clowe what a beast. He's all the power forward this team needs.

Opening the door to get in the rink.

Holland: "We don't need depth...Need a top guy"

Yikes I would find Kenny and immediately vomit on him if that happens. -
damian brunner - how much is it gonna take to resign him?
Carman replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
no more than 3 million. -

I'll give you Gaborik, but in no world is Cammalleri a better option than Pominville. Pominville produces more points, and is a much better two way player. Not mention cheaper, and right handed. -

What should the red wings do? What better option is there? Come on, I understand Bouwmeester, but this one is a no brainer. I mean Pominville is about as consistent of point producer that there is. He's a good player. Our top 6 is trash right now, not to mention he's a right handed shot. -
with trade deadline approaching - who's our tradeable assets?

You don't with win with talent alone, or else Edmonton would be favorites. Veteran contribution is an important factor. I'm not saying go out and buy rentals, but making a move for a proven player that will contribute now, with datsyuk is what I would do. -

Ok then trade everyone of value. We either go all in or not. We can play well, we are just inconsistent. If you want them to be sellers and then force a rebuild that we likely not make us a contender until after datsyuk retires I understand. But I'd rather try and make this team better, I really don't think that we have no chance. I think we have a chance, not a good one, but the potential is there. -

A chance at the cup is worth more to me. I'd rather not waste yet another year of datsyuks prime. If we sell we might as well go all out. -

Anybody can be traded. I wouldn't want to trade a prospect but if we get a 27 or younger player I don't see why not. All depends on the deal. He'll I'd trade datsyuk if we could get something like Myers, pominnville, and 2 first round picks. Etc. -
Nyquist didn't play last night. And that's flat out wrong about the East. Kadri, St. Louis, Hodgson, Marchand, Ennis, Stepan, Conacher, and Hagelin have/had no problem producing in the eastern conference. And are all under 6 feet and around 185-195 like Nyquist. Obviously Nyquist needs to gain some strength, but he's not going to get "eaten alive". You and I don't watch the same games. Nyquist is a much better skater and effort guy then any of those players. He does rely on his skill too much, I agree. But he's not given offensive play makers to play with, he only plays a bottom 6 minutes. It's too small a sample size to claim the guy can't play at this level. Datsyuk's first 20 games he had 7 points, Zetterberg was much the same.
-
Same here, I'm glad we are on the same page. If Hossa took playoffs off he wouldn't be 7th in active playoff scorer. Was Franzen better in the playoffs? Yeah, but it's also a much smaller sample size, and he wasn't better in 07-08. So it's not like every year franzen is a beast.
-
I just don't understand the hate on Nyquist getting 12 minutes a game to be an answer. Throw him up on the top lines like they did with Hagelin in New York and you'll see him produce(His points per minute is actually higher than Hagelin's fyi). I can't prove it, but I really think it would happen. The guy has too much skill not to be a factor when given the chance. His potential is still there, and there is no telling the ceiling on this guy. He can still be an elite player, he's only 23 and has barely played a full season of AHL/NHL hockey
-
No it really wasn't. I know I for one that really wanted to sign them Hossa, but instead we signed Hossa then Bertuzzi, and Wlliams, With the left over cap. It was a tough choice, and who knew that Rafalski would have retired so soon, but I'm not holding Holland to the fire, it was understandable why you would want to keep our cheaper, self developed, playoff beast over Hossa. But in the end it was the wrong choice to not bring back Hossa, as we have been missing that elite winger since. And it's really hindered us offensively in the playoffs, we have not had a solid top 6 in several years. It's always been patch-worked together. Open what box? The one were you try and justify Franzen's worth over Hossa? I was just clarifying that when Datsyuk and Homer's production in the playoffs came up, you immediately write them off with injuries so it was acceptable, but Hossa on the otherhand who had to miss the start of the next season because of a shoulder problem does not get that same excuse? Just find it pretty hypocritical that's all. I love cherry picking playoff years to compare players, what a novel and fair concept. Why not use the full sample size of each other's careers and notice that Hossa has a .43 goals per game and .92 Points per game. over 1006 games, yet Franzen has .31 goals per game and .59 points per game in 500. I mean I think Franzen is a valuable player, but it's absolutely no contest on who is better. Dominate playoffs, yes. 34 goals and 59 points is not a dominate season though. Also I find it no coincidence that Franzen's best year came when Hossa was drawing away some of the top pairing guys. And letting Franzen play the secondary scorer.
-
And hossa was playing with a bum shoulder that required surgery. But that's not important because it doesn't fit your argument.
-
Can you name some Wingers that are better defensively than him? We aren't comparing Hossa with Datsyuk and other Selke winners, we're comparing Hossa to Franzen. And it's not even close to who is a better two-way player. Hossa is an awesome player and his effect on the game isn't limited to his production. Which is why he would be worth the higher contract. That's all I'm trying to say.
-
Give me the list of wingers that get nominated for the Selke recently. It's mostly a center only trophy now. Hossa is one of, if not the best defensive winger in the game. I really don't see how that can be argued, and citing lack of Selke nominations for Winger really means absolutely nothing. Watch the games.
